Also, if you do decide to purchase the IAP, don't be too freaked out when I e-mail you ... I'm e-mailing everyone who buys it for the first few weeks to make sure everyone is happy.
That seems like the kind of thing the average Android developer would do.

Your rank ships numbers are not quite correct IMO. It is that number per faction, is not it?

As far as I feel that long term players will be fine and happy with the way you did IAP, I guess you cannot stress the explanation enough to new Elite players. I wish you firm nerves when explaining over and over again that you are not trying to rob them another $5 after buying $3 game .

That seems like the kind of thing the average Android developer would do. You have a much more charitable view of the average Android developer than I do. I suspect people will be astonished to get email from you. And this announcement most definitely did not set my 'begging for money' irritation alarm off. So best of luck!

It is $4.99 to unlock ALL the upgrades. Any chance of only unlocking some of them? Payment could be per app or the full price and you only unlock the ones you want to. Unlocking the awards is half the fun of the game but it IS an irritation to have to redo all the awards when one changes phones.

We have decided to keep it very simple and sell one easy to understand IAP.
Our research indicated that applications with large numbers of overlapping IAP received negative response from players.
The IAP will not reduce the fun. The game still fully tracks and marks Awards and Unlocks.
The IAP just overrides the blocker on purchases and picks.
So ... you can still earn the Awards and track the Unlocks AND you get all the content immediately. WOW, right?

I actually think your current plan is really good, Cory Trese. Keeping the amount of IAP relatively small and easy to understand is a great way to make it seem less nickle and dime-y. Or course, depends on what you guys are doing. With ST or CK I think having full on content IAP might be a bit tricky, but with TA I could see you guys easily adding in various IAPs that add in new functionality to the game without too much backlash. Like, an IAP that would allow a squad of 6 to be deployed would be pretty fun. Maybe adding in specialist equipment and bundling them into theme packs, things like "Templar's might pack" with some tailor-made gear for melee focused squads. The possibilities are there and I trust that you and fallen will do things right

When you talked about buying campaigns in TA, did you mean that you'd still have the option to unlock them in the elite version and the purchase would just instantly unlock them (like the awards in ST) or did you mean that the only way to get them was through paying up... because I like the first system, and I don't like the second. I understand you've got to make money, and I love what you guys make, but as someone who can't just buy anything they want (a.k.a someone with parents) I really don't want to find that I reach a dead end in games I've bought because I have to buy more to have more content. I hope you won't go down the 'buying premium content' route... However, I think the instant unlock codes for material you can unlock in-game with hard work is a great idea, as it means that the elite edition really is the full version. People who don't want to spend ages unlocking everything can buy it all, and those who don't want to spend money (or can't) have still got everything. The Ship Editor sounds AMAZING, and therefore I can understand if things like that would have to be purchased as they don't actually take anything away from the 'base' game (you wouldn't be missing anything if you don't buy it). I think this must be a really exciting stage for you guys - with four games out and more in the making - deciding to go ahead and work for yourselves. Good luck!

Yeah! We've been waiting so long, asking repeatedly for permissions to be added! Now it's so easy to transfer my Templar teams from phone to phone! Oh! The amazing levels I'm building in the new editor! All your Templarz belong to us!! 1!!eleventy!! !
Oh, what? This has nothing to do with all those features we can't have because of the Trese Holy Mandate against app permissions? Oh. Just about cash, then? Ah.
I think it's admirable how much fan devotion the Treses get. There is always someone to jump up and defend whatever they do. As for me, though, I have to say my interest in the Trese dogs ended $20.00 and a pay to play beta ago.

@lt hathaway - sorry we've lost you. We will work hard to get your interest in these "dogs" back.

Sorry, been offline for awhile and just caught this thread.
I, for one, am very happy to see you generate some revenue. I buy the elite's and click the little donate things when ever I can. Personally I don't see why you need money though. Who would have time to eat or spend money with all the time you must spend working on these awesome games!!
Congrats on your full-time employment and know we are rooting for ya!
