Waaaaah  ... my challenge is over. No, I didn't die but I was enjoying the challenge all the same. It did get to the point though where it was just a matter of waiting for the appropriate type of war and bludgeoning the opposition accordingly. Nobody scratched my paint after I acquired the Terror Class De Valtos ship. This ship was AMAZING, and allowed me to dominate the airways for the rest of the game. Only changed to the De Valtos Flagship in the last 1000 turns because it carried more fuel. SCORE: 9488*2 + 1232 + 2772 + 4866 Total: 27846 Stupid De Valtos was too peaceloving and spent decades without any conflicts!  |

After quite a few false starts, 5 dead captains under level 8, I bragged on the discussion thread that I thought I was on a roll with my then current captain. Unfortunately Zealous Julius flying for House Thulun was killed by a Narvidian Stalker. When I saw I was up against an alien I checked my rep page just in case. My final score was 3,755. Not what I was hoping for but I've never played on crazy till starting this challange so it was a good experience.

Ya know Robb, I swear you are a magnet for Aliens! In the entire time I flew my Zealot, I didn't encounter a single Xeno. Not one. I looked (not hard mind you) ... but they were obviously clustered around you

So, I am terrible at math. Have been my whole life. I always preferred literature, creative writing, and science. History was cool too, but I also have an ass of a brain that thinks it's hilarious to forget stuff. Bastard grey noodle....
Anyway, I am currently still on my first attempt for the challenge. Taking it nice and slow. Leveling up only pilot, tactics, and intimidate. Now, I've read some of the other topics about stat distribution, and they were mostly "9000% into shootiness, 55% into mouthiness, and 743% into smartassery". I'll be honest and say that I am retardedly inept when math and percents and girls appear, so can someone possibly give me a hand, and do it on a way ao that it doesn't look like abstract art?

I looked (not hard mind you) ... but they were obviously clustered around you Zealous Julius came upon a hive also that retreated earlier. In all my games I've found only a few aliens. They always seem to come at a bad time like I'm close to an achievement or in this case posted I thought I was doing well in the challenge. I went back to my game and moved literally 3 spaces and got killed after posting on the forum. |

Bah, first attempt did not end well. I'm not exactly sure what my score is, bit I got 970 turns in. Finally got a decent ship towards the end, but got snuffed by a Thulun thug. Thats ok, i had 47 confirmed kills, or at least ships blown out of the ether. Who knows how many men and women that adds up to.
It was fun. Got to level six, gonna go for a second try probably tomorrow.

prideofcadar, if you hit the "reply" button instead of the using the "quick reply" box, you should see a number of options for formatting including the ability to upload a picture. Let me know if that's not working. grävling and johndramey are you guys playing? I didn't see any captain names from you. Grävling it would be great to have you on board. If you don't have Zealot unlocked you can fly as a Military Officer.

Robb If it makes you feel better, I have not played a single community challenge in which I HAVEN'T been chased by aliens. Very annoying as my ship smells like a toilet for ten years after that and it takes about six months before I can prise my crew out of the nearest Spice Hall. It is starting to become a Community Challenge tradition for me.

Hey there contributor, I'm definitely playing. Sorry about the lack of responses, I've been busy at work and have been pretty lazy. I'm running my captain for Steel Song clan at the Titan Level. Captain's name is Mike Grotch because I'm an immature twit. So far having a hard time getting a captain off the ground, it's been too long since I've played ST and I get too greedy in the early game. |

Unfortunately the phone I have at the moment is too crappy to have screen cap, so Ill do this the old fashioned way.
Started a new captain, since you said bellow lvl 11 it was fine. Currently lvl 7, flying a Strikecruiser. It rocks. Anyway, um, I just wanted to update on this current run. Not nearly enough conflicts, if you can believe that. Its's 83.17 AU, and I've had less than a dozen faction conflicts, and the ones I do have started at the beginning. I have never seen that before.
Current standingd are:
Steel Song - -44
Thulun - -306
Javat - -59
De Valtos - -11
Cadar - 104
Rychart - 25
Please note rhat I have done nothibg to gain positive rep with Rychart. I'm just that charismatic of a psychopath, like Charles Manson or Mel Gibson.

Just a small update this time.
My current captain is still alive, and doing alright. Money is still an issue, so I try to keep an eye out for surplus/shortage rumors, especially since contracts really aren't worth the effort at this point.
So, I'm level 10, but not entirely sure where my stats should be. Tactics and pilot are 16, intimidate is 10. Put a few points into stealth, but I kinda regret that decision. Oh well.
What was the deadline again?

I was wondering who else was still in the challenge. If you still are, care to give any updates? My captain is still alive, amazingly. This is actually the highest level captain I've ever had, and definitely the most successful financially and award-wise.
Unfortunately, though, I'm still flying that Strikecruiser. I can't find anything else that either isn't leagues out of my price range, has far more Hull than I have Pilot skill, or isn't from another faction/indie spaceport. So right now, I'm just focusing on grinding my Pilot skill up. Tactics are still at around 20-21, Pilot is nearing 30, which should help.
