And I beg to differ on the planet thing. We have great planets, we just put them far away from all the other petty squawking factions so we could get a little peace and quite. Can't wait till I'm flying a Slayernz Cruiser (what will I rename it to this time? How about Betty) bought at Xenox terrorizing De Valtos accountants all the way back to DV prime.

Bastard! ... I took one of my other characters, painstakingly built up his Steel Song rep, and spent literally about 10 years of game time flying between ALL of the planets including Steel Song to find a Stupid who-needs-one-because-I-certainly-don't-mustn't-be-very-good-but-might-be-nice-to-actually-see Slayernz Cruiser.

Oh. Before I forget: if you plan on using the Cadar battlecruiser for the journey use the battlecruiser like a BATTLECRUISER. Or face your death against one million aliens like my captain Arclite did. Only maybe you won't take 100 of them with you when your hull is finally fragged by those buggers.

Holy crap I totally forgot to start my challenge run. I'm gonna sit this out, but will try and participate in the next one.
It's actually for the best anyway. I've still got a bunch of unlocks I need to get, and s bunch of them I have no clue how to get.

You can start this challenge now and still be easily able to finish the challenge. I'm about half-way through the challenge and we're only 2 days in. I know with a bit of effort, I could actually wrap up my captain within the next 24 hours or so.
Funnily enough, doing these challenges often results in unlocking lots of things. the last challenge was all about contracts, and so many of us got all of the contract awards done (except the time-based ones).
In short - start! If you find you can't finish, then that's okay, but you'll probably get into it and all of a sudden, you'll be at turn 10,000!

Halfway huh? Score check? I'm at 3110 turns in and at 6707 total score. Took me a number of tries to get started and had to back off my initial aggressive strategy, but I've got a a very good captain going now.
This make me think. Since you can't find your rep once you're dead, everybody should probable try to take screen shots of their rep page fairly often. If you can't screen shot it, I guess you'll have to write it down.

I was just stopping to fill up on gas on my way to Cadar UTF when I got word that the Spy War had been called off and an Alliance signed. Now we have three Alliances and no conflicts going on. That's just no fun. Steel Song, everybody's best friend. That's not supposed to happen.

What a great challenge it was, although by turn 5,000 it became super-one-sided because, let's face it, nothing stood in the way of De Valtos Glory. Steel Song, meh. Cadar .. okay I purposefully kept Cadar +ve RP, just because I've got a soft spot for fellow torpedo addicts.
This is the first challenge that I found it was actually harder getting the other factions down as much as I got my home faction up. I think if there weren't so many years where De Valtos actually LIKED everyone else, I would have gotten the RP higher still.
Great challenge Lurker. I expect that someone (you) will probably beat my score, but I don't know if anyone will get a worse reputation with Steel Song than me
