This is primarily for Gunslingers/Snipers.
When you hire them the first time. Perhaps add to inventory at least one clip-worth of the ammo they use? Simply included in the hire-price.
Been more than once that I forgot this when coming out of MnB. And VERY easy to forget if you're a brawler-type to begin with. (if you don't use ammo by default, it's easy to forget to pick any up. And it's RARE to see anything more than pistol from encounters save for the occasional corp one later having auto (don't think I've ever found heavy ammo in a 'search' post-combat)
As two asides for this: 1) perhaps slightly random weapon for gunslinger/sniper (even others too, but with 99 guns and 10 melee.. more likely the ranged guys would have variety in starting gear). After-all... why would EVERY runner have the exact same gear everywhere? A Corp-hired runner would likely have at least slightly better starting gear than a gang-hired one at the least. Why would a corp-fixer even want to deal with a runner with crap-gear?
2) If there's a 'superior personnel' rumor where you hire. Perhaps start with some armor, more (phys and/or mental) health (I think I requested this elsewhere) or perhaps better weapon?

fallen - Oh, and yes, while randomizing gear, obviously no one starting with the pure top-line armor/gun. Would be amusing to see a gunslinger start with a Blasta for example. Perhaps a Mars Sniper runner in a 'superior personnel' rumor zone could start with something close to top-notch. Would also be interesting to see a gunslinger start with a shotgun. (btw, with the whole pistol/auto/rifle/heavy/etc... still haven't seen a clarification for why a Sniper could use one type of auto-type ammo weapon but not another. and CAN a gunslinger even use a shotgun?)

Gunslingers cannot use shotguns.
