From the very beginning I found traits about the characters I liked. It's been good to see more personalities develop as you've added more. ST always refers to the fact that humans have longer life spans and I can easily see how cybernetic\bionics play a role. We need more of this comic! Don't over work yourself though, it's hard enough running a "FREE THE TB'S!" campaign, "FREE DAYAN!" wold take up too much of my time

I haven't exactly gone out of my way to advertize as much as I could. I've had some criticism issues before. I don't ragequit but as someone who used to post work to 4chan for the criticism, I've seen trolling both subtle and obvious. It might sound...overconfident, but the more well known I get, the better the chances of dealing with trolls again. (thats not why I left before btw) So I might be mentally shooting myself in the foot. I'd LOVE to make a career out of it, but I've been around Deviant Art and Elfwood long enough to know that artists of my caliber are a dime a dozen. It takes a LOT to stand out as an artist these days. I guess I never really thought of doing this as anything more than a hobby.

Whatever you're doing, I like it and I'm pretty sure everyone else here does too. When I found you on Deviant, I bookmarked the page. I go there every now and then to see your other works and love it. You may be a dime a dozen, but your the dime I go out of my way to see and keep around. What is this Elfwood? Now I have something else to look into. Hmmmmmmm.

Thanks! Gettng ready to hit the fan in the next few pages. I got a few comments from the smackjeeves version of the comic. It seems there are those who need a little background on the setting, and as players didnt really know what Xenos or Narvidians were. I would have though most of the themes in Star Traders are derivative for sci fi- the brothers themselves reference things like Aliens, Firefly, and other series when describing the setting, but more seems to be needed, for those who are more casual and won't pick on tropes like killer robots and hordes of hive-like aliens. So thanks to rabidbite for agreeing to hammer out a short blurb of expositional text, which I will nail to a simple splash page addition to the first chapter for smackjeeves. I thought about redoing the first chapter, to further polish the dialogue and replace the artwork (which looks somewhat dated compared to my new stuff). I'm not sure though. I dont want to turn into George Lucas and fix the early stuff no matter how crappy I think it is now. Yep I have one or two days. Just finished my 1st Line Edit. So, its back in the editor's hands. Where can I find good historical information about the history? I want to be accurate. rabid

contributor had made a small site that had a skeletal outline for the history and setting, which would be filled as time went on and we learned more. Alas I lost the bookmark to it. Ive jotted a few notes down here and there, but I can't cover the whole forum. So i tend to look for technical specifics. How void engines work, available weapons, specs on Shalun Law. Anything I don't have, I make ambiguous or just use art license. A small perk of a noncanon work. Luckily, sometimes things line up. I thought I'd goofed for the longest time concerning the presence of fighter craft back when X4 started, and it was shown that fallen and @corytrese had a void craft with a crew of five that was called a fighter but obviously not the kind you think of when you think of Battlestar Galactica or Star Wars. But then when work on ST2 revealed that there was in fact 'snubfighters' that just hadn't been able to be used thus far due to game limitations. So it turned out for the best. If there's not enough for you to work with that's alright. I can try to focus on the central story arc instead.

Well it would make no sense posting this in the actual comic thread, but here is a short overview page I put together with the aid of rabidbite for the smackjeeves readers. describing the templar as warrior-mystics seems a bit strange to me, but it was the best way I could think of to describe their nearly religious fervor and hereditary memory.

Awesome yet again dayan. The TB's need to make that a poster to sell.

Cool, that's a nice modification. The line of: Life is hard, but it is of little consequence. Humanity is strong! MIGHT deliver the message better as: Life is hard, but humanity is strong! Hmm. The next to last line doesn't feel quite right. "BUT" from the deepness of space a whisper echoes on the solar wind? How about: And from the deepness of space a whisper echoes on solar winds. Also, we could use: Across the spice hall a drunk hollers at the top of his lungs: Welcome to the Quadrant! Or : Across the field an ntsheep bleeps through a mouthful of grass: Baaah ba ba baaaaah! You can probably tell which one is my favorite.... rabid

If this isn't an allegory for how sheep came to be n the Quadrant, I don't know what is.

Taking a quick recess here to work on a contest submission for the new Nostalgia Critic DVD cover. The contest ends May 30, but I should be done and have my next page up by then.

You do good work. Cool storyline. I like the patience you have in not rushing it. Common mistake. Thumbs up to you.

By rushing jt do you mean what I said anout the main story arc or the speed at which i complete pages? Speaking of which, said speed has been increasing. I first heard about the contest about a day and a half ago, and as of now i have 4 of the six character images completely done. I have no explanation, as the contest is open until may 30th. I should be done over the weekend. Here's one of the images, Dante Basco, portraying Prince Zuko from Last Airbender using a fairly infamous fighting game pose. The fireball will be added later: ) I'm not done yet either. Since I have so much time leftover for the comic hiatus, next I'm working on a little surprise for all of you.
