First, let me say I absolutely love this game! I don't generally buy games for my phone, but this is one I will be upgrading to elite just because I am that hooked. Anyway, here's a few things I think would be great to have added/fixed:
Bugs -
When you do a contract for an allied faction, you lose reputation with their ally (I guess they're getting jealous?)
There seems to be something wrong with torpedo rearming. Sometimes it will put me over my capacity, and sometimes it will randomly drop me to zero torps. This seems to happen more frequently if I do a "rearm, take all, destroy" sequence, but it's not consistent. Sorry for the vague description, I will try to figure out how to reproduce the bug more reliably.
Pathfinding seems to try too hard to add a green space, even when it doesn't cut out a red space, resulting in completely superfluous movement. For example, if the best path is to go "up, then up-right" around a star, it will instead zigzag "right, up-left, up-right" if the square to the right is green. Or if the best path is "right, up-right, up" to get around a star, it will instead go "right, right, up, up" if the square two spots to the right is green.
Features that would be nice to add -
After doing a contract in a district of the city, we should wind up in the city instead of orbit; it doesn't make sense to have to land over and over for multiple contracts in the same city.
It would be nice if selecting "not ready yet" for a contract allowed us to get into the district in question, so that we can go there before the contract if necessary (i.e. if the contract is to kill someone in star dock, i'd like to be able to repair first).
When looking at available contracts, there should be a display of what our current coordinates are, currently in order to see this you have to either leave the city, or go to status, map and select yourself.
Single clicking a location while in space should show us the intended path, so we can decide whether we like it before double clicking to go there. Better yet, single clicking a planet should give us a brief info window (does it have urban? wild? who owns it? etc)
When the political officer informs you of an embargo, she should say who it's from.
Sometimes employers will send you on bounty hunt contracts against people they are allied with. Then you will lose rep with them for completing their contract; this seems silly. Either they shouldn't be telling you to kill their allies, or they should recognize that they are the ones that told you to do that and not penalize you for it.
A "go to waypoint" button on the movement screen would be nice, instead of having to find your own waypoint and select it.
Future game mechanics that would be cool:
It'd be really fun if there were some way to manipulate the political landscape. Like for example, you should be able to hear a rumor that syndicate X has been embezzling clan Y, then decide whether or not to go do surveillance on X and bring the records to Y, which would result in solar war, or sell the records back to X for large profit (i.e. blackmailing them), or bring the records to an ally of Y, which would cause him to trade war or spy war X or something, etc. etc. Or, there's an alliance you don't like, so you do surveillance on one side hoping to get lucky and find something out that would break up the alliance. This would make playing spies a lot more interesting.
It'd also be fun if there was some in-game representation of the power balance between factions and you could affect it. I.e. using the above mechanic, you cause Javat to go into solar war with three different factions, resulting in a decline in their power, and noticeably less Javat military ships flying around space. Or your favorite faction goes to solar war, if you ignore it both they and their opponent will decline in power, so you need to drop everything and go help to keep your faction powerful.
