Another type of mission could be a hacking mission. I can think of two possible variations.
1) Hack so many MP of data from faction X (or from location X) and sell it to person X. This could even be given out by data connectors and you have to return and get them the data they asked for. If you do this you would get money and rep above and beyond the sale of the data.
So as not to create loopholes, if connectors give the jobs you would have to have them give them against random factions because otherwise you could go hack whatever data you can find and then find a connector who you know will ask for a job to get that kind of data and sell it straight away. Perhaps there would be a way to do it so that once you got the contract you would get a pop-up during hacking that told you you found the specific data they were looking for. Then you would have to get to them and sell it to complete the mission.
2) Hack into a certain location and run a malicious script given by the connector.

contributor - both are on the list! Great suggestions. "Bring me X Paydata" would be a pretty interesting job type, because you could feasibly score that paydata other ways as well if the number was low.

for hacking missions, there could be a sort of mini ladder, and you get programs as rewards. maybe a Heatsink program that can absorb online heat, and Decoy programs that can increase your time.

brass - I love the idea for Heatsink. With the new jobs system coming online in 2014, Matrix jobs are sure to appear!

sort of related to this thread: what about chance encounters of failed hacking attempts: "you see enforcers converging on a hapless hacker in a terminal point. do you (1) help the hacker and get his MP load as reward, or (2) do you ignore, (3) help the enforcers and get cash plus good rep."

thanks for liking the idea. actually i got burned doing a hacking run, and i just thought it would be cool if you suddenly found yourself surrounded by the hitmen of the faction you were hacking. i just got booted out and had my heat elevated.
