I been noticing a couple of things when it comes to finding a ship in the stardock during a conflict. I just wanted to confirm if my hunch was correct. Is it possible to find a cheaper ship during a conflict. I have noticed that with trade wars you can find a cheaper merchant type ship with those factions than you would with a non conflict faction. If this is true does it work with all conflicts or just with Solar/Trade wars.

I'm not really to sure about that. Have you not notice a slight price change of trade ships when a trade war is going on. That is why I am asking this question to find out if the conflicts actually help you determine finding that one specific type of ship.

From what I've heard conflicts do change what ships are available at star ports of a faction involved in those conflicts. They may also change prices, but I'm less sure about that. Other things like your rep and rank with a faction also lower prices. I've played the game too much, but I have to say I've never actually payed that much attention to it or noticed the difference caused by conflicts myself. I think that the biggest thing is just finding the best planets that have high economy and security ratings.
Starting out there is no planet better than Syndicate Core for ship shopping. It's worth playing nice with DV just for this reason, in the beginning. Make sure to go to the exchange before going to the starport. That seems to increase the number of ships and upgrades available sometimes. Also pay attention to the rumor about "Star port expansion" or "surge in trading" these things will increase ship numbers.
It's also worth saying that ships get better as time goes on. If you had a ship that you just loved in a previous game and now your starting a new game looking for that ship it might not be available until your 2,000 or 5,000 or 10,000 turns into the game.
