So, Tam's new Talent begs the question: How best to build her as a Curse character?
-Do you go Blacknight and Torrent until SS opens up? -Do you think she will still need DI as early as possible? -- If not, is she worth it taking a backseat on Damage? -How awesome does TWO Throwing Knife characters sound?? (I think it would be absolutely incredible, but without Fyona being a better *early game* tank, nearly impossible on higher difficulties...) -If she goes heavily enough on Silent Stalker, would she even need DI until later, or would DI and ToS make a better combination to ramp up DPS? -Torrent of Steel allows Tam an amazing AoE from day one (or until it reaches the right level), so would you consider foregoing anymore than a single point in Ranged Onslaught to allow her to fully develop her cursing potential?
Once again I find myself spending WAY too much brain power on how to fit basically a whole new character into the mix... What is everyone else thinking at this point??

I can't wait to hear answers from the crew! Double-curse from Tamilin would be pretty mighty. With the AoE curse, she gets an amazing "AP to effect" ratio ... 1 AP to curse X monsters. Beats even Selen I think (until Selen reaches high enough AoE).

Oh, I think ToS just took the lead as best AP curse in the game...

ToS feels much more like it should be Selen's ranged attack pinning shot limited to range 4 keeps her in close to use melee blades for more damage after cursing the group.
After playing Tami for a bit, Ep 1&2, I think ToS feels out of character. She is the best archer in the game and it should bd that way. I didn't like Selen's Pinning Shot because it gave a -AP which allows her to be ranged effective in a way Tami couldn't be. Now Tami can almost forego bows at least through half the game. Tami wants to take 2 steps back and unleash her bow rather than stay close. I imagine her melee attack being a poison dagger that curses -damage, -accuacy, -ap. I would think it would be progressive and eventually an AOE. Selen's pinning shot doesn't increase much in damage and Tami's Melee attack probably shouldn't either.
Just to sum up, I think this would be a great ranged attak for Selen in place of pinning blades. Include Steel & Shadow crit to include thrown blades range 3,maybe. This keeps Tami's specialty of massive damage at range 6 or 7 exclusive. Give Tami a cursing blade attack in case she gets surrounded that slows her attackers until she can get free to use her bow.
Did anyone request a Ranger in the healer slot? Fyona Melee specialty, Ranger archer specialty. Kyera divine specialty. Tami and a Ranger taking out those annoying Krete before Vraes can even get to them, haha.

@gr8ttscott - thanks for the feedback! I'm am very happy with Tamilin's new talent and the feedback across all channels has been overwhelmingly positive. Can't imagine switching it with Selen's Pinning Shot lol. We'd have an uprising on our hands. I think its perfect for Tamilin, and adds the variety that has been lacking. To be clear, she is the ranged queen

With +2 MP she can fully use her AP each turn. Even in very crampled conditions of underforge and haunted crypts. In the open, she's… just… overwhelming.

I have a question I can't seem to find an answer to...probably staring me in the face somewhere but I can't see it: does Torrent of Steel benefit from Ranged Accuracy gear, Accuracy gear, or both? The description of Torrent of Steel says +Accuracy as does the description of Ranged Onslaught. But the descriptions for both Deadly Intuition and Silent Stalker both say +RANGED Accuracy. I'm confused. I just started playing this game in the last week and have managed to complete Episode 1 with no deaths on normal but I still don't really know what I'm doing. Typically I wade into games, and once I figure out how to play them and what the basic mechanics are, I go to the forums and try to figure out what I should be doing. I've found there's really not much point reading all of this material unless I have some sort of firsthand knowledge to figure out what you all are actually saying.
Whoever posted the "tip" that there needed to be an abbreviation guide to these posts got a +1 or Exalt or whatever from me. :-) (Notice I spelled everything out above.... :-) )
Any help would be appreciated. Also, while I'm thinking of it...I've noticed Tamilin can sometimes hit three across with my Level 5 Torrent of Steel. That doesn't seem to fit with the Area of Effect picture on the right of the description. Am I seeing things or is that picture not accurate or, I guess, why does that happen sometimes?

Accuracy = melee and ranged accuracy. On equipment other than weapons or a buff (ex. On Deadly Intuition or accuracy on a ring) it is a standard dice (success = 8+ on a 10 sided dice). On a single attack or on a weapon (ex. Accuracy on Torrent of Steel or on a sword) is a strong dice (success = 6+ on a 10 sided dice)
Melee accuracy = a standard dice for melee attacks ONLY.
Ranged accuracy = a standard dice for ranged attacks ONLY (this includes point blank ranged attacks such as what Tamilin can do with throwing knives. As such Tamilin gets 0 benefit from melee accuracy as she can never melee). This includes spells. (Silent Stalker is a typo, it will give you STRONG dice as all single attack moves do)
Curses do not need accuracy unless they do damage, then they need to hit and do damage to apply the curse.
The hit template on ToS and similar skills is the hardest to read. I imagine a perpendicular line across the plane of the monster I am targeting. If the line bisects the square at 45 degrees or less (as measured from the from the square's border line closest to the character shooting) then the mob can be hit (it gets regular dodge chance). If it is greater then 45 degrees the move will not affect it. There is 1 bug to this that has yet to be fixed. If you are shooting from the east to a mob in the west in a straight horizontal line anything on the south plane of the perpendicular line will be unaffected. This is the template for ToS 2-4. ToS 5 is the same except the perpendicular line can extend 1 square behind as well. This includes the square to either side of the target too. So monsters in a "V" pattern would all be hit if you targeted the base of the "V".

Alright, I've got to reread all the dice things so I understand the strong vs standard thing. In the meantime, I'm hearing that accuracy gear does ZERO good for Tamilin. It must be ranged.
As for the target vector, you're right, a picture does definitely make it easier to understand. That's a very strange bug though...just try not to shoot that way I guess, eh? The one picture you DIDN'T show me is the one I was asking about though. Say we were flip-flopped in your last picture and I was shooting the opposite way (or better yet, I was below three guys in a line and centered on the middle one) and let's say there were two rows of three, one directly behind the other....could I hit all six? Using your perpendicular line example I should be able to, correct? Assuming I was high enough in requisite abilities to hit 6 monsters at once...
xx Me> xx xx
Those x's line up in the post but not when posted but I think you get what I'm asking....
