Toasts when Blockade or Patrol

I have noticed that sail damage / crew casualties can happen when doing the blockade or patrol action, but there are no toasts about it like when moving. Can you add it? I thought about requesting a nifty dashboard on the Bridge screen showing fuel, sails, engines, crew, etc. but I realized that what I really want is satisfied by a simple toast (and a dashboard would be lots harder).

And does the Mechanic help with sail damage when patrolling or blockading? Maybe she is, and I just can't tell due to lack of toasts about it.
