Karjus - armor always grants 50% of its points automatically. The second half of the armor value is rolled as a dice. So, armor with value of 22 always blocks at least 11 points of damage, and rolls a D11 to decide about the rest. This does not resolve the issue that 1 AP weapons are unbalanced. We are balancing out the fix for this and will hopefully see it deployed in early January. This makes sense. This makes lighter (lower AP) weapons less effective [than heavier weapons] against heavier armor. Thanks for the clarification fallen!

Alex Fury - the same variability is easy to achieve by controlling the armor protection that different armor types can provide. Heavy armor will far out-max Light armor, which will far out-max Mage armor. In these early days of E1, you'll start to see the spread already. This also helps avoid more complicated rules about armor. The problem with 1 AP weapons is not the weapons damage, but the way they can be used to stack with talents. Any calculation of "damage per turn" for an AP weapon is woefully missing the point if it does not take into account talent bonuses. And spirit cost. I don't know about everyone else, but I am having Vraes and Tamelin run their spirit ragged using attack talents. I find myself focusing on buffs and saving the attack talents (and spirit hit) for must-kill scenarios. Gotta say, really enjoy this type of meta-gaming. :)

Some cloaks and such have +2 armor and such, or is that just added onto the number provided by the torso slot? I'm going to assume it is added, as the numbers on the accessories are written as +number instead of simply "number".

Karjus - yes, all gear slots are added to the armor before the division (x/2) and the roll (Dx) are done. Those aren't technically "armor" and each character only wears one piece of armor. The gear bonuses are all added before the math is done.

And Toughness? Does it just count as extra armor?

Karjus - toughness is given its own soak round with the same rules as armor.

Included Riven Field items, first town in Act 1, Part 2. Hmph. Anyone have suggestions on how I should have items organized? Think I'll be doing armor by base armor bonus, shield by parry, and might organize odds and ends (boots etc) alphabetically but unsure what to do with weapons.

KarjusNot sure if you're familiar with Cyber Knights or Google spreadsheets but when I first saw your table, I thought of this post from over there: startradersrpg.proboards.com/thread/2394/ck-reference-sheetIt references this Google sheet: CK reference sheetOne of the neat things about doing it this way allows crowd-sourcing of input (ie. anyone can edit it) but only if you want. Even if you are the only editor everyone else would still be able to sort the sheet to find, for example, just the light blades or to find only items with special bonuses. I like what the CK post has done and kept all the weapons together but I can see how with HoS that could become unwieldy very quickly. Multiple tabs for types of weapons or equipment could be useful. Or even, and now I'm really swinging for the fences, you could add additional columns for each character and sorting by character ability to use (ie. Vraes yes/no, Vincent: yes/no, etc.) Then we could look up just equipment that Kyera can use, etc.

@rearick
I believe one is already being worked on. I'm simply keeping this clocking over til it is up and running for those who want something to use right now.

Unfortunately, I am so busy playing I sometimes forget to update the sheet when stuff happens(find stuff, level, etc.) Thanks for the great suggestions for extra columns/sheets. (Currently I don't even have armor/weapons/equipment sheets.)

With update 1.2.23 some of this will be inaccurate due to further rebalancing. Sadly, I'm not playing at the moment (waiting for ep 2 to continue current party, and the Paladin to start a new one) so take everything with a pinch of salt.

First off, thanx Karjus for a very complete table. I've edited reformatted Karjus' weapons table. The main reason I look at this table is to understand how the weapons progress and plan purchases. So i've delete found equipment which, though awesome, can't be relied upon. I deleted a couple of columns and edited stuff to make it a bit more compact. Weapon | ActionP

Pretty much really out of the loop right now on all of this, so if you used my values on earlier items they might be totally wrong. Keep on meaning to get back to playing, but just not finding the time. >.< Also got one of my kickstarters finally coming out the end of this month (Yay Divinity) so game time will probably end up focused on that.
