Mmm! More spice! So, anyone else like disolving it in your vudka and drinking it by the pint?

So star trader rumors increase available ships and upgrades, mercenary rumors yield more crew, and spice trader rumors increase spice units, rumors, and contracts.
Fascinating info.
Grazi.

There were some complaints on the forum that some of the rumors weren't making enough of a difference.
So I doubled them! That's what I always do with a bloody mary. don't like it, double the spice.

Mmmmm, spicy!
Bloody Mary's are one of my favorite drinks. They don't compete with the "give me a dirty vodka martini, and make it so dirty Christina Aguilera would blush at it" drink that I love more than anything else. But they're miles ahead of generic lowballs.
And while I appreciate increasing the value of the rumor what I found really neat was learning what the mercenary rumor meant (besides, hey, come get a military officer here). The same was true of the star traders one, I had no idea it increased ships for sale.

I don't get the rumour improvements. These are the rumours you get from the Spice Hall and Palace, right? And now there are more available to get, which increase the number of available ships, etc. Is this right?

The existing rumors in the list have been "buffed"
So previously one of them increased available spice rounds by 150%. Now, it increases it by 300%, increases something in the Exchange by 50%, etc. No new rumors, just more "effective" ones that already existed.

I still vote for buffing up the alien rumor too, lol. I have had to fight off a few mutinies patroling the areas where the rumors send me lately! ;-)

So....might have a bit of a bug here (or maybe I just don't understand the way that the factions work, i'm new to these boards after all).
I'm playing on demanding, level 3 currently, playing as the Captain on the free version. All I've done to this point is straight trading and taking advantage of shortages. I've run from every fight, and taken only a scant few contracts, while making sure they're only "against" the independants.
As of right now, my factions range from +6 to -4 with most everyone...however the House of Thulun seems to have a bit of a beef with me; my faction is at -134. Not really sure how it fell quite like that, i've been doing everything in order to keep everyone happy (like a happy go lucky trader should, right?), yet it seems that something I did created quite a stir.
Bug? Feature? Me being confused? I'm at a loss...

Sounds like you entered a trade war during a shortage :s

Did you ever trade at a world of a faction that was involved in a trade embargo? If so that can tick them off pretty righteously.
(you can see who is in an embargo by going to status, then hitting the cargo tab, and then the "Conflict" button)

Ok, thanks for the input!
