Since the Electronics skill isn't used as much as it could, I thought it would be cool to list some ideas using the Electronics skill! I want some input, feedback, new ideas and good times so let's get started!!
-Buying drones for use in battle-- you can go to a store (gang hideouts come to mind as many of them use drones anyway) and with enough rep buy drones from them (a max of like two?). These drones can be "used" in inventory during battle to summon drones on the field, and their damage, health and accuracy are modified by your Electronics skill (or a Runner's skill if he/she uses them from the inventory). Lower gangs (LV, Fennian) have Scavenge drones, mid gangs (KH, BS) have regular drones for purchase and corporations can have Hypercannons available for purchase.
-Special stun guns that do mostly MP damage and are used the way normal guns are in the game, except these are modified by Electronics rather than Firearms.
What do you guys think? What else?

When maglocks are implemented, they'd be perfect for Electronics. As for new ideas, how about finding and disabling security cameras to reduce heat?

Supposedly a high Electronics helps make medpaks re-useable, but I've yet to see this happen either. Is this actually enabled fallen? Other ideas: Perhaps a way to use electronics or such to 'hack' your way through the Brave Star gate before you have the pass (going North, as you can always pay your way through going South) Perhaps a way to use Electronics to bring an early-end to Matrix/Phone out in an area. I'm sure there's stuff in the works for Electronics once other Drone options come later as has been heard in the pipeline here and there.

Use electronics to reduce heat in other regions.
Maybe to use on finding someone thru the matrix.
Use it to build something. Bomb/grenade/phone(portable)/etc.

fallen - Cool, can we know what range it takes to be useful for medkit re-usability? I know I've never seen a toast yet that I 'saved a use due to skill' on any char ever yet.

I have a character with Electronics of 5 (on Normal difficulty, if it affects things) who's saved a medkit once. Just once, but it happened.

I have had med kits be saved many times but my skill/mind had to be around 9 and higher. For it to happen a lot I had to have my skill maxed. I play on brutal difficulty and have some times gotten lucky with my skill lower. I do not think it has ever happened with my skill below 5 so I think that is the level you could start to expect it to happen but I could be wrong.

It is determined by your Electronics Skill and the quality of the Medkit. I made an update for the next update that means you keep the same Medkit you had before, where previously the rules converted the medi to a "used medkit" which was kinda crappy.

Thanks for the input guys. Up to date I've rarely had any character (or helper-runner) get their Electronics that high as the only real reason would be medkits. And with the need to get combat-stats up high enough to survive corpland areas, medkits just don't stack up, as it's often far easier (and cheaper) to just find a nearby doc that can heal up. On Brutal I can see using them more and making a 'medic' type char, but since the whole 'shared best stat' hasn't been around, that would have been useless too.

Electronics continues to appear more in Encounters which is another good reason to care. I always build a Runner with high Electronics for this reason. But then, I do a lot of work on insuring that all my characters have a non-combat stat that they are focusing in so that I can succeed the most Encounters possible. Fastest way to gain more XP.

There is that, that I've noticed, and yes, I've started doing that myself. The new encounters has given much more reason to work on that one.
I look forward to how you guys keep expanding the game.

I thought I had noticed it happened with better med kits more. While being able to keep the kit full and re-use it would be nice, I think that it would be more realistic if they down graded to the next lower kit. A 10 goes to 9, 9 goes to 8 etc.
