zciworezlo - I believe you are correct that the weapon should be printed as 11-21 Damage. I will double check and fix the display if that is the case. Our dice have no 0 side. Thanks for checking this. I'm interested to know if, that being the case, damage values are off in the same manner in-game.

zciworezlo - if there is an issue, it is only in the display of the weapon, not in the damage results that are occurring. All dice in Heroes are like physical dice (a D6 has 1-6 sides) so it seems like the text displays are wrong, but the results have always been right.

I'll be interested to hear whether the in-game damage ranges displayed are correct or not.

zciworezlo - yep, I gotcha. It will be fixed for the next release. A weapon with base 10 and damage dice of D10 will show as 11-20 damage.

fallen - doublecheck your explanation at the beginning. 10+d10 = 11-20, but as noted, it does sound like 11-20 would be 11+d9

algesan - thanks for pointing me back to that. I have tried to fix it, I'd love some feedback. The change made it much harder to explain I feel like.

fallen - looks awkward but it's clear, and I cannot think of a better way to phrase it, at least before coffee. The Baronblade example below needs the 35 & 36 swapped but is good otherwise.

Makes my head hurt (also no coffee yet) - fixed to 35.

I'm guess it must be a balance thing, but it's a bit weird that shields don't help vs arrows.

Can the mechanics regarding spell talent accuracy and damage be clarified?
As of 2.1.45, my firestorm talent is not affected by the weapon accuracy. This drives a greater demand for accuracy gear. I swore I saw an improvement upon equipping a new staff on kjartan in act ii, but maybe I just imagined it.
As written, the attacker successes section would lead one to believe that staff accuracy improves talent accuracy as listed under strong dice.
Also, is it the case that weapon damage does not impact spell talent damage?

phaze - modified a little bit to clarify. The easiest way now to check is to check your talent details box (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_cU4Z5yRew). A weapon's mundane stats (such as "2 Accuracy, 4 Parry") do not affect a Spell Attack. However, if a staff provides +2 Ranged Accuracy, that does benefit a Spell Attack. If a Staff grants +5 Fire Dmg, this improves the damage of the Spell Attack as well.

vdx - thanks for the post and welcome to the forum. 1) Glad the thread helped! 2) As stated in the first post, Shields give Strong dice for melee defense. About half of my builds for Vraes carry shields and I find that you can make him into a serious tank with the right combination of Talents and gear. You won't be a tank by picking up a Shield, you have to make a good combination, but that's tactics and how it should be. 3) My favorite build is using Kyera as a full time combatant. In that build, she uses Smite and Myshana's Tears as her primary talents and picks one curse or one buff to add in as an off-cast. She rocks and with the right group behind her, is very strong. In the fight at the Gatehouse in Red Hill, she single-handled fought the group coming from the main area while Vraes went north across the bridge (Hard game at the time). Yes - she is not Vraes in melee, and she is not Kjartan in magical combat ... but if all the characters were the same, that would make a pretty flat game! Glad you are enjoying Heroes! I have to admit, Kyera is pretty wicked. More than once she strikes than death blow with a well placed smite. Interestingly enough, I haven't raised her SMITE skill even once, yet she still hits like a truck because I've raised her STR like crazy and because Kjartan's Ash debuff (which I increased) is nasty as heck. A good cast grabs you 2-3 enemies at the same time, which allows for 1 debuff and 2 fireballs. Fallen, a question about damage (I read the first post). I equipped Kjartan with an item that says +4 fire damage and one for +4 lightning damage. Does that mean that Kjartan's RANGED SPELL ATTACKS (fireball) get affected by both or is that damage limited to melee and non magical ranged attacks? rabid

rabidbite - all +Damage buffs (of any type of damage) are applied to all attacks, regardless of type (spell, melee, ranged). So, if you get a +5 Dmg piece of Gear, that is also added to Kjartan's spell attacks.
