I have Morrowind too, but I was thinking of purchasing the Elder Scrolls Anthology. It would include Morrowind, its expansions, Skyrim and its expansions, 2 other EScroll games as well, which I don't have. (Don't have any of the expansions for Morrowind or Skyrim). I have to sit down crunch the numbers and see. If I get all those expansions for the same amount of money that it takes me to buy all of Skyrim's DLC content, then Anthology is a good option. On the other hand, I have been reading a lot of books lately. Into The AbyssThat is one seriously good book for Young Adult and fantasy lovers. Really recommend it. rabid

You can get Arena and Daggerfall for free off the website, and Oblivion isn't as good as either Morrowind or Skyrim. It's still a good game, but it feels like it was trying to go the mainstream Skyrim route while also being a traditional RPG, and it diluted both sides. The Morrowind expansions are excellent, and the Skyrim ones are decent, but a little on the small side.

Daggerfall is the one that brought me into the world of Elders Scrolls and that one as Morrowind are what I really want about RPGs : freedom. In those games you could really create what you needed as you see fit (spells, weapons, armor, character class...) and explore the map as you wanted to. Of course, technically speaking, they are buggy, not very beautiful and when you wanted to go from one place to another it could be a pain (mostly in Daggerfall) but we all know here that astonishing graphics don't make great games... The anthology though looks really promising. That could be a good way to spend some money. Or I'll save it for ST2 Kickstarter

I'm waiting for the ST2 Kickstarter so hard right now. Ben saving some money on the side for it.
And I really have no problem with graphics. Having a restricted graphic computer for most of my life, I have played really great games that didn't look like the next big thing. Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic comes to mind, and I played that in 2012.
Waiting for Morrowind to DL right now.

Lemme warn you now then- you won't be hitting jack until you level your main combat ability closer to 40 or 50. And stay out of caves/dungeons until you're either level 10 or 12. They do NOT scale with you and the road through the swamp leading out of Seyda Neen has a tomb with a bunch of angry lvl 12 vampires who will happily slaughter your poor character for mudcrab meat. Also learn to love the Elder Scrolls wiki page. If you do Redoran's mudcrab quest, you'll understand why.

Just saying that those are major differences. I ragequit Morrowind when I got thrashed by mudcrabs, and returned a year later to realize that having points in skills you're using is super-important unless you like flailing and watching a character die. Oh, and use hard saves every so often. Autosave Isn't the best. And consider some of the fixing mods floating around as Morrowind makes Skyrim look bug-free. And if hearing a cliffracer doesn't make you cringe, you're not playing the game right.

This page will probably help. Also, if/when you join a Great House, make sure it's the one you want, as you can only join one (well, there is a glitch that lets you join 2, but that's cheating).

Always raise 3 skills, (In different stat categories IE. dexterity, strength, blah blah) 5 times for maximum level up awesomeness. 2. Every single time I leveled, I put one of the 3 available points into Luck (if I remember correctly). High luck is ... epic. 3. Jump everywhere. It increases dexterity. It's almost funny how quickly it goes up. 4. To increase bow, shoot at everything that moves that isn't going to affect your reputation, your jumping is going to make your arrow accuracy ridiculous.

This Rabbit may be lazy, but is damn right In Morrowind, your 3 best friends are : jump -> raise Dex, high dex -> accurate shot on enemies, high Luck -> critical damage on said enemies Add some stealth to take those enemies by surprise and you get the recipe to success.

*Battlespire (and Shadowkey, which is where I think you're getting mixed up), and I wish I had those.

The only ones I know of are Arena (the first one I think) Daggerfall (the first one I played back in the 80s) Morrowind (the 3rd and the best IMO) Oblivion and Skyrim (so the 5th...)
What are those ?

I can't remember which PC I played Redguard on, but I DO remember that the sound used to stutter like crazy. It was also pretty bad, in the controls department, (plenty of death by lava, cos your character missed the platform etc). I've stiil got Battlespire, (almost typed Shadowspire again. Duhhh). Can't get it to run nowdays, even when using DosBox. Elderscrolls games, haven't really changed that much, over the years. Graphics, yes. Interface, combat system, very little.
