The removable upgrades is a great feature but I'm struggling to figure out exactly how or where to so it... Any hints?

The removable upgrades is a great feature but I'm struggling to figure out exactly how or where to so it... Any hints? When purchasing a Ship Upgrade, you will see a message: "This upgrade is not permanent and can be replaced." OR "This upgrade is permanent and cannot be replaced." Based on the type of Ship Upgrade you install, later you will be able to install a different Ship Upgrade. Ship Upgrades can be installed by doing "Dock > Star Dock > Upgrade Craft > View" To expand a category where your Ship is already upgraded, tap "Show Installed Upgrade" E-mails are coming in fast and furious -- so I'm happy to report that lots of people are finding it and loving it. Android only at this time.

Aha.. Got it. I was looking for a full removal option but its more a straight swap than a remove.
I'm guessing that its a one time only deal as the messages on the other upgrades state that once you change the upgrade it can no longer be removed (or something similar)?
Awesome update tho. New ships look cool as hell.

The feature is specifically designed for replacing Ship Upgrades, very much like how it works in Age of Pirates.
If you replace a Ship Upgrade with a Ship Upgrade that can be replaced, then you will be able to replace the replacement.

Lol thanks, seems to have cleared that up Just wandering if if will be possible to add a 'no upgrade' button to the existing possibilities as I've come across a few upgrades at times that seemed a good idea but turned out to be detrimental. Something to remove an upgrade at low cost if you don't have the expenses to directly add a second one

I didn't add it because by my understanding of the math, none of them are worth removing.

The problem isn't so much the upgrade as the overall situation it puts you in.
For example the upgrades that increase encounters for a big cargo hold maybe mean that your suddenly fighting just a little too many enemies to effectively handle.
The one I found was that the shalun mercenaries pushed my fuel consumption just a little too high and I was suddenly running low on fuel on long runs, leading to other problems of the mutinous kind and down hill from there.
In that case I found that I would rather have left that upgrade until later on and even with the option of a refit I wouldn't be able to afford it due to spending all the cash on hiring the water guzzling mercenaries.
Just saying that other than paying redundancies and outstanding fees it shouldn't cost much to fire a few mercenaries/pry off some large bulky obvious armour plating/eject a cargo pod rather than spending thousands on a complete refit.

The challenges of ST ... a saved game format with four years of backward compatibility problems.
I'll see if that is possible, to reset an update to 0 instead of shifting it to another upgrade.
The first rule of Star Traders is "Never break a saved game, no matter how old or crazy" so we have to be cautious.

Lol no worries, just thought it may be useful in some limited circumstances, if not I'm sure it won't have a massive impact Awesome update guys, as usual

I'm working on the next update for Apple. With the caveat that you can only have one save of any one game. So you can have saves of multiple games but not multiple saves of the same game that would allow you to go back save a captain who gets killed. I didn't like that either at first, but having played way too much ST now I really think it's great. One captain, one life, one story. Permadeath is one of the best things about ST.
