Quick question on Buffs and Gear bonuses. Do all bonuses from different sources stack?
I know Armor does but what about Damage bonuses and Critical bonuses? Say I use Frenzied Blows, Dance of Shadows and Ring of the Hunter, are the Critical % added together then applied or is only the highest bonus applied?
Also for Damage bonuses, do they apply to all attack types (melee, ranged and magical) or just certain ones? What about gear or buffs that provide a damage bonus of a certain type like Burning Blades or Left Hand of Ice?
Trying to make the most of my Gear and Buffs. Don't want to equip an item or use a Buff on a character that's getting no/limited use from it.

All bonuses and penalties stack, no special rules.

All bonuses and penalties stack, no special rules. Good to know. What about damage bonuses and different attack types? Will say Burning Blades only affect melee attacks or does it also work on ranged and magic? Will Left Hand of Ice apply Ice damage bonus to say Kyera's Holy Retribution?

1) All damage bonuses stack for all attacks. 2) If the accuracy bonus reads "+X Accuracy" this is universal bonus. "+Y Melee Accuracy" or "+Z Ranged Accuracy" are limited.

fallen thanks, great stuff to know. Wanted to make sure I wasn't wasting Buffs or giving characters equipment they couldn't benefit from.

So ... burning blades can actually be used to buff your thief's arrow attack right?

One thing to note, is different damage types while stacking all go separately through the damage soaking process. Therefore, if you've got a +fire damage item then the person who'll get the most use out of it is someone whose attacks do fire damage already, and so forth.

Yeah, but something in another thread pointed out that elemental attacks have a base physical damage component which is fairly large at low levels of damage. Which explained why Vincent's LSpear was obviously benefiting from Selin's armor debuff. We'd have to find out from one of the Brothers if it is an individual Talent thing or based on damage potential.

All Attack Spell talents cause X - Y damage. The X is against physical, the Y is magical (that is, all of the dice rolled for the attack are magical).

So giving Karjtan an Amulet with +6 Fire dmg and Burning Blades Buff will be much more effective with his Firebolt or Immolation spells than the same given to one of the other characters?
Would an item that grants a +4 electric dmg be better or worse than one that just adds a straight +2 dmg for say Vraes who is just pounding on people with melee attacks?
Bigger dice pools are obviously better but if the elemental attacks get roled seperately don't you run the risk that their relatively small dice pools just get wasted by not actually penatrating the targets defenses?

Yes, you need to focus elemental damage to insure that it causes damage. Finding a way to get +4 Fire, +4 Holy, +4 Ice and +4 Lightning is far inferior to stacking up to +16 Ice. The threshold of "usefulness" will grow as the monsters you are fighting grow.
In the middle of E2, I have loaded my Tamilin with +16 Ice damage. Against and average monster, she is gaining 6 damage points per attack based on this Ice damage vs. the monster's resistance.

All Attack Spell talents cause X - Y damage. The X is against physical, the Y is magical (that is, all of the dice rolled for the attack are magical). ?? Spell talents cause X% physical & Y% magical (elemental)? With a cap on X (X% up to Xmax) or fixed %? Do the same rules apply to +element damage?

Do the debuffs stack? As in, does a second cast of Choking Ash add to the -Parry -Dodge, - Armor that was reduced by the first cast? Purely anecdotel, but it seems I can consistently do more damage if I recast more buffs. It could just be the random damage that happens per turn....
