I made it to Turn #1002 in the duel. Every time I pressed 'Duel' I'd get "Wuotan's attack party boarded Hawk Class and inflicted 10 damage." Yet their ship takes no damage and they lose no crew. Finally it just called it a draw. Was that a bug where I'd do "damage" but their ship stats wouldn't change?

My hunch is that dueling repeats the combat results from the last pre-duel round. I've seen the same behavior, round after round of identical results with no actual damage going to the ship.
My current theory is that boarding and "dueling" are two separate things. Boarding takes place in a standard combat round, and can lead to a duel between captains. But the duel itself goes so fast that it all takes place within one "combat round", thus the repeated messages for each "dueling round". A duel can run multiple rounds, and ends when one captain succeeds in breaking it off or dies, at that point combat returns to regular "combat rounds". Further boarding efforts can lead to more duels, which can each consist of multiple "dueling rounds".
The alternative theory I have is that there's a bug in damage while dueling. But I incline towards thinking combat is complex and designed that way. (mostly because figuring things like that out from the evidence presented me by the game interface is fun for me)

I think "captains duel to an epic standoff" means you failed to wound him, and he failed to wound you. Your Warrior was not high enough to get past his Stealth, and his Warrior was not high enough to get past your Stealth.
When your duel attack lands a hit, you see "enemy captain has been wounded" and when you get hit, you see "captain has been wounded" followed by "captains health X" to let you know what your Health is now.
I think the "10 points of damage" is misleading -- it is the wounds delivered that count.

This is an OLD issue from early development that I have never fixed.
When a Duel issues the old "10 damage" or "-10 damage" result ...
Something that wasn't in "ship damage" was done -- captain lost of point of STR (only happens to NPC captains) or took 1 HP point of damage -- the result object in the game's code needs something for "ship damage" so I put in 10.
I could change it to something silly like 913 but then more people would be thinking it was a bug. Eventually I will fix this, it is just really much harder than it sounds (and I know, it sounds like simple.)
