When I try to rearm my ship after an encounter it will delete the captured ships torpedos but I rarely get them added to my ship, am I doing something wrong?

No those torps are just not compatible with your ship. The Crew is trying the very best they can. You can also buy torps at any military base.

Thats kinda what I figured, is there any rule about what torpedos are compatable?

We should still be able to string the incompatible ones together an off the back of the ship like cans with a "Just Married" sign. Only we have one unfortunate soul climb out and start cutting those ropes, then try and lasso them towards other ships when we wanna just bombard them with stuff.

Base compatibility is 50% of the remaining unused HKT.
If the flags of the Faction ships match, +10% If either of the ships are independent, -10% If both the ships are Syndicate +10% If both the ships are Clan +10% If the sector is green +5% If the sector is red -5% If morale is not 10, -10%

Why should morale matter?

Because going onto a hostile ship and capturing torp is work best done by fanatical troops.
You get more when you are willing to take personal risks.

i figured you'd say lower morale troops would be less likely to be looking for the ID tags and just be like "nope, not the right kind, keep moving, bastids!"

Fanaticism is the currency that drives this Quadrant.
Your crew is always more efficient and effective when its moral is 10!

I'm straight up profit sharing. I know how hard it is to find a healtj and dental plan yhat fits everyones needs and budgets, so i say let them look for their own.

If my crew starts complaining, I just make them explore a dangerous planet. Then I get new crew.

Officer Cory? I dunno, sharing profits sounds awfully communist to me. What is this galactic quadrant coming to, where any and every disgruntled crewman thinks that he deserves to be bribed by an overly successful captain?
This sense of entitlement to a share of the profits is not just un-seemly, but cuts deep into the bone and marrow of the Capitalistic Spirit by narrowing our profit margins! I refuse to employ any pinko-commy scum in my crew!

Alas TB, our officers are too cannily capitalistic to fall for any slander implying they're commie bastards.
They only work for a cut. (2% plus a signing bonus IIRC)
I might, or might not, disagree with the principle of the thing. But I value the services they provide far too much to quibble over the odd profit-sharing deal so long as the officer in question serves loyally until I shove himmer out of an airlock in favor of a better officer. (usually that's Ol' Turdlip goin' out the airlock, but sometimes I switch up an officer later in the game as well)
