I can't believe I died. I pressed turn finish button by mistake ... On our feature request list to add a confirm if your party combined has more than 10 remaining AP. Please, do! The doorbell rang for pizza, and I went out hurriedly and didn't realize I pressed end turn

Seriously though-- don't sweat the score on your first run through. Just enjoy the story and get to know the game. It's only your first run, and to get to the Krete without biting it is an accomplishment in itself. I don't feel too proud dying in normal difficulty though - albeit the normal in this game is a bit harder than most RPGs. Oh well.

You will want to continue playing. Knowledge is crucial to survival in this game and there are many tricks ahead of you. Act 1 is tough but wait till "dig deeper" MUHAHAHAHAHA!

We've all done it, consider it a badge of honor.
I got all the way to the middle (start?) Of E3 without dying and got ambushed by a Ratkin death squad, it was the perfect assassin crew: 4 veterans, 3 warriors, 5 archers, 3 skirmishers, and 2 Deathkin. I got cocky because I hadn't seen them in an entire episode, and left Selen wide open. She got shredded on an awful sequence of enemy attacks, and I learned to never underestimate this game, or its difficulty...

Once you get into the game, and learn the maps, the enemies therein, and how to maneuver within them, you will become much more comfortable with the game, and mistakes will come less frequently. Some of us have played dozens of groups (I've made over 125 at this point. Not all of them made it anywhere tho) and know every spawn through most of the maps. This game seems to reward the player for hugging the walls instead of running through the middle (less chances to double pull), so keep that in mind on the larger maps. This game becomes quite the addiction, by the way

The title of this thread led me to believe there is one, but I couldn't find it? startradersrpg.proboards.com/thread/5905/players-guides-heroes-monsters-tables

Very challenging and rewarding. So far fights have gotten easier after I've leveled Lightning Spear on Vincent quite a bit since we last talked. The lack of damage - especially ranged and AoE damage - was really dragging me down for a while. Of course, I might pay down the line but we shall see. This has also enabled me to continue to focus on getting both Kincaid and Selen's defensive talents up, rather than prematurely getting to their offensive talents (which I will get to be a bit later).

Not sure... fallen? Is there a compiled list of enemy types yet? If not, make sure you check the status screens of the different mob types, learn their weaknesses, and modify your strategy accordingly...

No, there is not a compiled and published list of enemies. In the latest story development for E4, we just passed 300 monster types.

Also, any talent that helps me to up resists?
Relatedly, what gear would you guys take?
6 percent all resists + 4 SP drain
OR
4 armor, 1 dodge, 1 parry +3 SP drain?
Edit: Oops. The 2nd gear is actually 4 Dodge, 2 armor + 3 SP drain.

For me, for most characters Dodge/Parry>Armor>Resistance
Go with the dodge gear, IMO...

Also, any talent that helps me to up resists? Piety Ward on Kyera. Also Pure Flame Shield, but you aren't running Kjartan right now AFAIK..?

You're playing on Normal. Trust me when I say that resistance gear and talents on this difficulty are closer to being a waste than an asset. I *never* worry about Resistance on normal, and would suggest going for armor or avoidance over spending slots on res.
Keep a good set or two of res gear on hand and only switch to it when going against enemies who have huge amounts of elemental damage (Krete)
