It would be nice that the units that have already moved or done something and can't do anything else during that turn greyed out, sort of like the moves depleted in CIV, where they kneel down.

@chococrowbar - very interesting request. We probably wouldn't grey them out, but I can see applying some visual queue! Added to the roadmap for consideration.

Maybe engine shutoff? Dunno, but it would help once we get a big fleet going.

Actually a good idea, maybe something that can go into my request for a rearm/refuel symbol. Maybe have the lower left corner of each sprite be a spot where their extra icon can pop up. Make a couple of them, like;
Critically low Water-fuel (water drop?) Critically low hull (Cracked hull plate? All MP spent (red M) All AP spent (red A) All AP/MP spent (red A/M)
?
Just tossing out ideas.

I'm wondering what the pros and cons are versus having seperate movement and action points as opposed to simply action points for movement, combat, ect like TA?

I'm actually like this system. The MP and AP change depending on how you design the ship. Want a fast colonizing ship, or a really fast scout, or maybe a heavy gun on which movement isn't very important, you got it.

I move a ship. Go around looking at all my colonies setting projects etc. Can't remember which ships exhausted MP so I scroll the map and tap each ship to bring up it's stats to make sure there isn't one I forgot to move. With a large fleet that could get a little difficult to keep up with. Perhaps a "Next Ship" toggle that auto scrolls to each ship one at a time? We know the ships engines haven't actually shut down, each turn is a way of measuring the time/distance it takes to travel given engine and ship type. What about a hud button that brings up a list of all ships similar to the colony display?

Yeah, I think ChocoCrowbar hit it on the head. Separating the AP and MP allows the player a lot more freedom when designing the ships as well as allowing for a more meaningful tech tree. Do you pursue higher MP Engines, which would allow you to be more mobile on the board or do you go for AP reactors which would let you have more combat rounds? Or, middle of the road it and run the risk of having a faster or more well resourced enemy have the upper hand? With a large fleet that could get a little difficult to keep up with. Perhaps a "Next Ship" toggle that auto scrolls to each ship one at a time? +1, good idea!

There's already a next ship scroll. It's the little arrow to the right of the ships HUD. It just cycles through the ships, including the ones that don't have any MP or AP.

Trying to decide what the rules of the "next ship" button ... =) I think a visual indicator that you are really done with all your ships is what I want as a player. I tend to do them one at a time, so I would be content with a system that let me see which ones had "not spent any AP or MP"

With the limited number of ships I currently have had, it hasn't been a problem to just keep hitting the next button until I've gone through all of them. But with a dozen or more ships, it will get hard to keep track of whether I've gone all the way around. Especially if I do some out of order, like when I deal with all of the ships in one battle at once.

If I might make a suggestion; Currently we have to hit the little "continue ship movement" button every round and if you forget, well the ships just wait. Would it be possible to have any ships with pending move orders to auto move when the end turn button is pressed?
