I'd like to see some vessels added to the list of those available for players; with some only encountered as faction navy vessels & which can only be attained as prize captures.
I would also like to see multi-hull vessels; catamarans, trimarans, outriggers.
Encounter/Prize Only Cadari, Ruesland, Kaihmer - Ship of the Line (1st/2nd/3rd Rate)
Trading Companies Only - Treasure Galleon (Royal, Ocean, Fast)
Gao Confederation, Kushan Empire - Junk (War/Imperial, Trade, Coastal) - Catamaran (War, Ocean, Coastal)
Cadari, Ruesland, Kaihmer Only - Frigate (Royal, Fast, and Patrol)
Ruesland Only - Longship/Northlander (Royal, Ocean, Raider)
Available to Purchase - Pinnace (Fast, Coastal, Smuggler)
- Barque (Naval, Coastal, Smuggler)
- Schooner Brig (Naval, Ocean, Smuggler)

Maybe you can suggest the stats for these? Unless their stats are drastically different from whatever is in the game now, they will turn into that mediocre collections we have in ST. Current situation in ST: Lots of ships in the docks but most of them are junk regardless of which style you choose to play.

I would prefer faction-only vessels to be more rare (as well as only being seen at Hard & above), have considerably better stats and/or captains.
A Ship of the Line (SotL); even of a 2nd or 3rd Class, should be an intimidating sight, even for a fully upgraded War Galleon. If a 1st Rate SotL shows up (very rarely); they should be vessels with huge hull/keels, masts, ridiculous amounts of cannon, with small army aboard them, commanded by a highly skilled crew.
Frigates should have strong hull/keels, sail, and cannon ratings, with larger hold capacities, but with smaller crews.
Gao Junks should have strong hulls, masts, with large crew & cargo capacities, but with fewer cannon.
Pinnaces & Barques should have high sails, masts, and cargo capacities, but with tiny crews and armaments.
Treasure Galleons should be strong on masts, hull, & cannon, but only be appear in rumor areas. They can technically be merchants, but be assigned to a specific faction, with highly skilled captains, & have holds full of gold.

However they have to be less powerful than the Kraken and Ice Demon ships? Otherwise we are creating another nasty group of ships with the exception that we can capture or buy them.

I imagine faction-specific ships like SotL and frigates should be as rare as Ice Demon vessels, and at least as powerful if not more so.... however they can't be bought, unless by a specific rank captain & at specific difficulties or with achievment unlocks. Junks & treasure galleons should be as rare, but capturing them by way of speed & specialized ship-to-ship boarding is the way to go. Broadsides & bombardment at long ranges will send these to the bottom quickly. Keeping one as a prize might not always make sense, unless the game eventually allows for captains to keep individual ships in dry-dock. A pirate or privateer should be able to run down a treasure ship and overcome its large crew & devastating broadside, but only with a well-planned attack.

It means Cory will have to spend more time.... I prefer he gets the map bigger with the missing nations included.

For faction-specific boats like frigates or SotL, Ice Demons might be used a capture-able template. For the others, availability in ports & encounters at sea could be similar to other existing vessels that appear less often; i.e. Redsail Sloops & Shadowsail Cutters.

If you think about it, though, it isn't like we are the only powerful captains on the sea. Isn't there a one in a hundred chance that we encounter a legendary pirate? There are also many military ranks to be gained, and I'm positive there are admirals other than Roderick, even some higher ranks. (Spoiler alert, lol) So it seems plausible that there are stronger things out there than some Krakken and these Ice Demons you speak of.
Could make these like sidequests from acbf and be triggered by a rumor... Out there in the most remote area of the sea, there is a legendary treasure fleet, ripe for the taking, if you can survive the trip out there...

There could also be flag ships that could lurk around the capital port of each of the major nations, triggered only by faction wars... Neutral to your captain unless there is total war.

I would love to see an increase in high level ships around the major and important ports of nations when there are certain conflicts. Total war would produce high level war ships near the capital, naval forts, and wealthy population centers. It makes sense that a nation would have its most powerful ships in the navy defending points of interest, not just randomly about the maps. Could be either zone wide or within 10-15 squares away from said port. Why should a fully outfitted knight in a fully decked out War Galleon be able to sail right up to an enemy port in a total war and meet no added resistance?

Maybe we need some ST like options like: Naval Blockade, Surveillance, Q-ships etc.

Enigma- Those ideas would make things quite interesting if they could be implemented. I like especially, your idea on how capital-ships may appear & behave. Even getting close to enemy naval bases & major ports should be a dicey proposition at best in wartime, hence making blockade-runners useful at times. I hope the option to dry-dock & store vessels is added to the game. It'd make keeping a swift & small on hand more lucrative.
Hlo- Good plans. I'd like to think that Blockade/Surveillance isn't in the game only because they haven't gotten to adding it, yet.
