I'm still curious about the "Great Nerf." You didn't pull the best ships out of the game did you? I loved finding those rare ones and I've been thinking about getting back into ST lately.

I thought being able to unlock some awards to be able to use even more engines or sails was a fix to that.

Or maybe just some of them, like 1/4 of the ships.
No one will notice, yet still return he normal difficulty.

So then which ships did you nerd? You can download the ship lists for v5.5.5 and v5.5.7 from this thread and compare them to see the changes. But who knows, maybe there will be a Great Un-Nerfing in some future release?  |

You missed it -- get the new one. You had to be quick to get it -- Cory's been busy publishing updates lately. I missed 5.5.21 -- it was up to 5.5.23 by the time I got it. But 5.5.5 is the one I play, because I prefer to fight against the harder NPC ship designs (before the Great Ship Nerf of 5.5.7). The great ship Nerf of 5.5.7 stopped the hate mail. I am sad that it came to that but ultimately, I'm working for the average customer. Very interesting. What does it say about me that I didn't even notice ANY of this? Maybe you could include un-nerfing those ships within the extreme difficulty checkbox in addition to whatever else it does? |
