Okay... So I know.rumors certainly help.here. But I am not 100% on all the planet ratings. Does a high security mean better stardocks and military bases? I'm just cruising around from planet to planet trying to upgrade my warship. My explorer has almost two and a half million. So far everyone likes me. I am about 10k turns and level 16. So just over 200 years on challenging. I am giving up my trading biz now (all embargo all the time...) for a little action. I don't really know what the planet ratings do for the game. Good exchanges have more goods, but I don't know what the others like hall or security actually change... I get they make for better or worse planets but haven't been able to discern what the differences are. Thanks for the help

I believe that being so far into the game its foing to be really hard finding upgrades period. From everything i have read.
I do not know too much about the ratings myself

@gearhead - from my experience, higher security means more powerful ships and captains protecting the planet and the surrounding space.

@gearhead - from my experience, higher security means more powerful ships and captains protecting the planet and the surrounding space. If I may add to fallen's comment. From what I've read somewhere in this board and some observation, I think Higher security = harder to land without encounter and better patrol. meaning: you need better piloting skills, smuggler officer(?) "landing bonus" and smuggler profession helps too. bring extra water / each encounter consumes fuel and I think if embargo is on = more rep loss (exchange is swarming with security and stringent paper work) Can also mean more and better ships and upgrades to shop around. Cory said that Palace rating = farther scope and better rumors. Spice hall (from what I gather): in addition to better rumors, better rating = less rounds of booze needed to increase crew happiness. More booze wont make the ladies look better on some far off independent spice halls. On the other hand, a shot @ Waldorf Astoria will make up for the whole night. I don't pay too much attention to exchange and economy rating. Economy = more supplies? Exchange = better buy/sell ratio for merchants?
