It looks like Spy Wars have disappeared from the Library. Unless somehow they are escaping me again.
I see you upped the price on creating Trade Alliances. I figured though "it must be worth the price or it wouldn't be there." I was very happy when it announced that it had completely successfully. But when I went to my politics screen there was no trade Alliance. This may be a bug, or it may be that I don't understand the politics system. Sort of frustrating though when you flush a thousand creds down the drain.

Library entries are related to Tech. I will check to see where you get the details about Spy War.
Completed Political projects will be weighted against existing ones, and sometimes they don't stick.
I will work on making that generate a "Failed" message instead of a "Success" message.
Thanks!

Thanks.
Is the stick factor, factored into the costs of different projects? If I've got a 40% chance of completing a project and 70% chance of having it stick that should be factored in.
In my current game it was pretty annoying though, because the next turn after my Alliance didn't stick a Solar War started and then a few turns later a Trade Embargo. Really made me wonder why I was spending money on stuff if I was just going to get bent over the barrel anyways.

I've now had 2 Trade Treaties that have been "successful" but have not turned a trade route into a trade alliance. In one case I had three trade routes so I know there were some options. Is it pointless to try to do a new treaty if there are already 3? Between the ones that aren't successful and the ones that don't "stick" I'm blowing a lot of money on this and getting nothing for it. Are others successfully getting Trade Alliances?

The reminder message to start a new tech research project is very useful. I get into situations where I cannot afford to work on a political projects but get a reminder every turn to start one.
I don't want to turn off all reminder messages. I cannot remember if this was already addressed somewhere in the forum as being an Alpha only message. Sorry I'm short on Frontal Cortex ram, only have 2 MB. Thanks

My third Trade Meeting gave me a trade route instead of turning an existing trade route into a trade alliance.

Trade Meetings only make Trade Routes. You want to use Trade Treaties to upgrade them to Alliances.

Sorry, I've actually been using the wrong term in this thread. I've been doing Trade Treaties the whole time. Despite three successful tries they've never turned a trade route into an Alliance. One time the did create a route though.

Sorry to keep hammering on this. I just had another "successful" Trade Alliance that didn't create a trade alliance. I've spent over 10,000 credits and have yet to get a single successful trade alliance. Either I'm getting seriously bad rolls or something is broken.

Another politics question. Is a Trade Embargo the same thing as a Trade Ban. I'm getting Trade Embargoes forming, but I only have a political treaty that ends Trade Bans. The library also only speaks of Trade Bans. It seems like the language needs to be consistent. Also I don't see an entry for Alliances in the Library, unless Alliances and Trade Alliances are the same thing, in which case they need to be made consistent as well.

I too have a hard time understand how politics works. It's still very unclear. I know it affects my economics but I have a really hard time to figure what is doing what.

All I know is that alliances and trade routes are good; solar wars and trade bans are bad; and spy wars are a mix of the two.
What I do and how it affects these things IDK.

Thanks, we're working on it and will get back to this thread in a bit.
@chococrowbar - I'd suggest reading about it in the Library!

So there's a second dice roll to see if a treaty sticks? I had a "successful" Dual of Assassins but the Solar War did not change.
