As I go back and forth checking the progress of individual colonies it would be useful to see the turn number on the Colony display. I find myself balancing what to build or not build based on the Empire Status screen but cannot remember the turn number. So if I check the "Game Turns" the exit returns to the star map as it should instead of the colony I was reviewing. One example is I can see a tech is 88% completed that will let me build a factory, should I start building a mine? This would help in estimating what to do next on a specific Colony.

John Robinson - we have to be careful not to overload these UIs with all the numbers. I am not sure that we will add Game Turns to any other screen than the colony screen. These sorts of operations (is the research 88%, should I wait?) requires you to move between multiple screens. How exactly would Game Turns help you stay on the colony screen more?

I always seem to muddy the waters with unnecessary details. The only thing I'm really asking for is to add the Game Turn number to the Colony display nothing else. Overloading the UI display is a good way to ruin a great game, so I sure don't want to go anywhere near encouraging it. No sweat either way, I'll just climb back into my straight jacket now and count my toes.

John Robinson - def only want to add details that are pertinent or reduce steps. How would the game turns make it easier?

Yeah you're right, today I'll want one item from the Empire Status down the road another, that's no good. It is a navigational ease of use issue for me. I would like to navigate/toggle from the Colony display to the Empire Status without dropping back into the star map. Similar to the way you navigate in the All Planets display. You can select one for viewing hit the back button pick another and when finished hit back again to return to the star map. Perhaps the Empire Status icon could be added in the top bar of the Colony Display along side the "next colony" bent arrow icon ? Add Empire Status Icon ? Irrelevant info reader forewarned: Let's say I want to build a ship or another mine on Rychart prime, I know the size of my treasury. Uh oh I better check the Empire Status screen to see how much of an impact on the economy/maintenance that might have, will it push me over the sustainable limits? Ok I say to myself you only have this much to spend, Cadar Prime's morale is in the crapper, Rychart Prime is dead broke. Hmm.. the Empire Status screen is the place to check for best overall effect. Darn dropped into the star map, where was I again?

John Robinson - I understand the request you are making about putting the field in Colony, or adding the buttons, but I am asking "why do you want that?"

I didn't answer right away, because I play tested some more with the UI trying to see why I wouldn't want it. I still might be missing out on what you are trying to help me understand but here is the reason I would like to have it. Example: Let's say I'm viewing the De Valtos Prime Colony screen and I'm getting ready to start building a new upgrade. My population is 4 and housing 3 the people aren't happy. But my $ are 2/-40. So either a mine or Hab unit will help De Valtos Prime. But what would be of better benefit to the Empire as a whole? If I looked at the Empire Summary perhaps my Income is $2 unless I generate some more cash the opportunity to build anything on all the planets will slow down considerably. In that case it might be better to build a mine on De Valtos Prime and delay building the Hab unit for the good of the Empire. What do I want and why? When in Colony view before selecting the next upgrade to start building or leave CP idle. I would like to take a quick peak at the Empire Summary without having to drop back to the star map, then select the Empire Summary to see where the Empire really needs help, Then exit the summary dropping back to the star map and selecting the Colony view again. Is there a navigation path already in place to do this and I just don't know what the heck I'm doing? Has anybody seen my brain? I might have left it in my other pants lol. Thanks

fallen, John Robinson I have to admit that the back button is a little awkward and switching between the different information screens should be more fluid. I have 2 button picks from going from planet summary after going to an individual world. I have to click back then click planet summary again. Also have several back clicks to get rid of the advisor. I find the same back button on the research screen. Crimson
