Do you go Alien hunting at Level 2 in Star Traders? Yep. Edit: ooh, now I get what you're saying. So I *shouldn't* go alien hunting at level 2. No wonder I always die on impossible!

It's like when I go exploring a planet at level 1... Everyone dies, myself included. I can only imagine what my expeditions must be like in ST. "Hey look guys, it's a leafy green plant; lets try and smoke it!" An hour later were all dead from the ST equivalent of poison nightshade. Yep, sounds about right...

@starfixer:I'd assume the two things you mentioned are connected; I'd assume that if you had "kicked them while they're young" they would have not backed away then. And, have you seen the second wave? The one that seems to never end? I haven't gotten to the 2nd one but I had heard that it never ends? Is there a warning so you can prepare when it happens and does it truly NEVER end?

Is there a warning so you can prepare when it happens and does it truly NEVER end? No, it ends regularly, but you have to play a few hundred turns to get to it. Many people are seeing "never ending invasion" because they're attacking xeno worlds, destroying xeno flagships, or fighting multiple aliens at the same time. I'm working on it =)

Right... A few hundred turns. More than enough time for the alien to completely wreck you. It took less than 40 turns to get to the second invasion, and it takes a few hundred turns to get out of it?

They attack for about 50 turns at a time. I'm working on getting you more ways to track Xeno migration and growth cycles.

The most common problem is they go defensive, the player doesn't realize it, kills a bunch of them and they go hostile again.

Cory Trese what does invading their worlds do to their status? Instahostile?

Just got past the infamous second invasion. Took a while but it wasn't endless. The key is to have a big economy and lots of RP, as early as possible. Also have ships in standby so you're never caught off guard

Not enough but it's surely better than nothing. I haven't gotten to the 2nd one but I had heard that it never ends? Is there a warning so you can prepare when it happens and does it truly NEVER end? No, it ends regularly, but you have to play a few hundred turns to get to it. They're currently using the same artwork as the other ships, so they're not sticking out but the AI uses them as rallying points.
that is good advice, and take advantage of the fact that fully repaired and refueled ships that don't move cost way less to maintain.
