After 1 year game time in free mode using the Tutorial map.... I decided to buy Elite via in-game purchase. Now back to my learning of a game that reminds me a lot of the good old Sid Meiers' Alpha Centauri and few other titles of his. I can see an absolute green horn to this genre will get confused using whatever on screen tutorial (or the lack of). Not me although I am still learning.
Previously I did all my purchase in Google Store, then download. When I go to Google Store I can clearly see under "My Apps" that I have the Elite game. This time I did in-game purchase and I only see the free version being marked as installed, not the Elite version. I guess I will find out when the next update comes along. Who cares as long as it works.

hlo - buying the in-app purchase means you will just continue to play Star Traders 4X Empires app. It does not install the Elite app. They are separate games completely, no copy games, no transfer of IAPs.

Is that going to have consequences down the line? I bought the Elite DLC instead of getting the separate app, am I going to miss out on anything that people who bought the Elite App will get, or is it just some kind of technical limitation for the time being?

Amazon updated to 1.1.5. Go to Kindle settings -> Sync all content It downloaded and installed. Looks like the turn around time for approvals is getting faster. Officer Genious We posted within a minute of each other lol.

That's a very good question ! I did that too.

There will be no difference between the games forever. They will always offer the exact same experience, exact same prices.

The difference between paid applications and in-app purchases is not a technical limitation of ours, but a business model and implementation for Apple, Google and Amazon.
They all elected to put the same requirements on developers, which is to either do both or pick one and loose customers who refuse to use the other.
We have people who write and say "I never buy IAP" and others who say "I never buy paid apps" so we are forced to have both.
They will remain 100% equal forever. The IAP is the reason it isn't called "Star Traders 4X Free" but Google/Apple/Amazon do NOT allow an IAP to change application title or icon, so that is the platform's choice. If Google ever changes that rule, we will change our implementation to match.

Glad to hear it. In the future, it might be nice to have some sort of warning in the IAP explaining that, but it's not too big of a deal.
