There's another one with a mouth and one that looks like an eye.

ncaoa - means you are fighting different types of enemies, alien races, and AI types. In the grand scheme, the ship graphics for aliens will be differentiated by race. Check your Empire Summary > Teams List.

Thanks. So the unique flags represent a different alien type/AI? Why isn't the flag on each of their planets? And the AI system is epic btw. I've been playing a game against three enemies ,one actually started just a few sectors from my first colony D: The funny part is it never attacked. It sent colony ships near me a few times. My Templar defenders actually stared one in the face for a few turns and it just watched, like it was getting a feel for my colony. Took them out soon as I got transports. Creepy stalkers. The Terox were vicious as always, but the Red Zorga are my biggest enemy here. They dug in the and I've been fighting them for several years in-game time. As I killed more worlds I started to notice more Xeno colony ships trying to slip through the edges of my borders. Little things like that are really sell the idea I'm fighting an intelligent enemy.

The Red Zorga (like in ST:RPG) is a tenacious enemy, stubborn and resistant to morale penalties.
I tried to model each Xeno AI in 4X after the matching RPG enemy.
The AI doesn't have Explorers[*] so some AI use Colony Ships as scouts. Creepers.
[*] but they do gain bonuses from controlling UN-explorer anomalies.

Why isn't the flag on each of their planets? Can you explain this question more? Each of their planets has a flag.

Why isn't the flag on each of their planets? Can you explain this question more? Each of their planets has a flag. Sorry for the confusion. I think I figured it out. Every Xeno planet except for one for each race has the general Xeno flag. Is the unique flag used to mark the home world that damages their AI smartness when destroyed? I saw Cory mention it on a different thread.

ncaoa - nope, that is a completely different xeno team. Sounds like the red xeno team only has one planet?

fallen I think there may be a bug then. On my current game, the flag on the Red star in the screenshot is used almost every where. Attacking them damages population for each Xeno type. In one area they are Red Zorga, in another they are Jytea. I think that's how it's spelled.

Should I be sending explorer craft into their territory to remove the bonus?
