@kazuhiro Welcome to the forums! It's always good to see a new face around here. Having positive rep would not be enough to prevent factions from attacking you. Almost certainly not with a low positive rep. After all there'll always been someone out there looking to make a name for themselves by taking you out!
But I guess from a non combat play style I guess it can and will be very frustrating. I'm sure that Cory and Andrew will come up with something.

Another feature I'd like to see is the following (it's late so this might not make any sense, until I edit it in the morning): Your own personal contact. Whether this is via a V-chip or just a building that you frequent. This would be someone who would supply you with only one of the following: - Weapons
- Armor
- Implants
- Ammo
- Equipment
- Paydata
- Contracts
Now maybe this person is someone who you've known all your life, or it could be someone who you've spared from an Assassination contract. But it would be someone at least semi-loyal to you. Most of what they sell you would be Black-market products. Maybe even the odd prototype. From time to time you may have to do them a favour, or assist them with moving to a more secure location.

@kazuhiro - we are hard at work producing a list of challenging, but non-aggressive encounters, and also those that are directly influenced by reputation. Thanks for keeping this top of mind.

Thank you. I know it should be possible to lose rep by having an encounter with the gang go badly even if you have a few rep points with them, but losing rep for killing them in self defense when they shouldn't have attacked me anyway feels wrong.

Couple quick things.
Dunno if this has been said already but Vinnie once gave me a mission to deliver a box from one building, back to the EXACT SAME BUILDING. Also the jobs often don't make sense in general-delivering a message to a building in the Valentinos' own turf pisses another faction off?
A small complaint: goddamn everyone calls you "chummer." People who want to kill you, people who are your superiors, everyone. Switch some of it to "omae" or "cutter" or "outlander" or SOMETHING.

I know its probably been said before, but an update of the combat graphics so it syncs with what gun your actually firing. The stock standard pic is a shotgun, & there aren't any in any shop

These thread work SO much better when it is positive instead of attack.
We're two people trying to make the games we're asked for by the players.
The players we listen to will present ideas in a positive fashion in a way that is easy to use for prioritization.

Truth is, there are still people who do not get that simple fact... @cory : Do you think it would be possible to create "neutral encounters" ? I mean encounters (and by encounters, battles) that wouldn't be linked to any faction and thus wouldn't affect your reputation... (Yeah, I admit it, I'm still searching for ways to fight in total impunity... )

The stock standard pic is a shotgun, & there aren't any in any shop The standard image is a pistol and if you equip a heavy weapon it shows a rifle fired from a position which I felt was half-way between shotgun and rifle. The "heavy weapon" image will be used for shotguns as well.

The defect in the code where you can receive a Contract that sends you to the same planet is a familiar one for any old hat ST RPG players, right guys? =) It will be an easy fix and I have added it to the list. I'm afraid that the missions that "do not make sense" just need more explanation and background documentation. In the same way you can operate a "Safe House" in the territory of a Corporation that HATES you, you may find operatives, agents or runners hiding out inside of a territory. Unlike the 2d contract system of Star Traders, CK allows for the Pro-Faction, Anti-Faction and Complete-Action to all vary independently. The Job list may not be perfect, but I think that this variance is an advantage over the ST RPG system.

I'm sorry you find that so irritating. As we develop a slang terminology document and glossary for our internal dialog development efforts, we will ensure that some variance in address is introduced.

Also it feels like a a case of appropriation from Shadowrun, unless Catalyst themselves appropriated it from someone else which is entirely possible given their record of doing such things. I don't mean to belittle your work but the use of "frag" and "drek" and "renrauk" is a bit conspicuous.

I think it would be really cool if certain buildings that say " restricted area, off limits " could give you contacts, corp info, v chips & the like if you have a certain amount of positive rep & ladder progression
