Just a few ideas while i'm at work:
How about special encounters based off your current jobs. "mars doesn't want that info hitting the streets. hand it over chum."
an encounter against another cyberknight that scales to your exp spent
hacking jobs, data retrieval from a specific node or uploading a virus
Lower rep loss from encounters if only nonfatal attacks used
Protection jobs , go here keep idiot alive while an assault team attacks you
Extraction jobs, knock target out them escort him to another location. Of course your heat would be high from the initial snach so not as easy as package delivery.

Have we considered maybe being offered weapons/implants instead of creds for some jobs? Sometimes it's easier for someone to throw a Knight a gun than it is 500 bucks...

More awesome ideas team! Keep it up. Cory and I continue to mine these threads for golden nuggets that get slotted onto the backlog of updates. Keep with us, and just like in ST, you will see your requests come to life!

i like what magiclemur touched on with his extraction idea. certain operations should surely (at least temporarily) increase your heat tremendously.

I'm not sure if it has been suggested yet, but i have an idea that will definately be easy to implement, and I am sure a lot of people would like it. Using the same contacts that you sell data to, or perhaps a seperate group of contacts, allow the player to "Bribe" his way back into the good graces of a particular faction. for instance, right now i am at -53 on bravestar, due to that being the only faction i have a fence for, to buy my paydata. the ammount of missions i would need to do to get back on their good side (assuming i dont KEEP selling paydate, which i probably will) would be enormous. therefore i was hoping to have some way to "buy" myself back into their good graces. at present, i dont know what to do. i realize that often times, games have you make a choice, and you are stuck with it, but most games like these, where you spend a lot of time building up your character, the people who play these games tend to be completionists. (I know I am) anyway, its just a thought. It was my experience that before i even got the hang of the game i had a negative 17 rep with the streets, calling me a coward, and i didnt know why. (i almost never ran, save for things you have to run from, like gas and falling dome bits) i know that doing missions tends to give you a better rating for that faction, but outside of that i do not know any way to raise the reputation. Or am I just missing something?

Staying at safehouse slowly raise your négative rep, and lower your positive ones, but honestly it takes a lot of times ! The other way to mitigate their hatred toward is very simple : do missions. Buy a 3-job PC from Mars (it only costs 8k at Mars tower, if I remember well), and do "pick-up and deliver packages" : your rep should raise pretty fast !

We are working on a "Prince" type system that will provide many of the same principals as the ST prince. Pardons, Bribes, Passcodes, Secrets, Rumors, Deals, Special Conflict Related Missions, etc.
It will be funz =)

One thing about hacking...right now you can basically get all the money you need quick if you are patient....but no experience points for successful runs.
True bummer if you go Cyber Zombie right off the bat...
Probably WAD but wondering if hacking will give experience? Especially for a hacker character?

Noticed something -
If you get a kill mission you can get 2XP per mission by fast moving to the fugitive, taking him out, fast moving out of guards range and escaping...
You get 1 XP for the kill and 1 for the escape.
I like it as designed, but definitely a way for a fighter based character to build faster than hacker/facemaster...
Classes other than CyberSword or Gunslinger are currently at a disadvantage...

Yup, and we who shoot first ask later would like it to stay that way. Damn brainiacs and two facers are always creating trouble they can't get themselves out of

/./The Agent EX watches the classes argue superiority and perks././
Amateurs.
Also, I've been kicking around the idea in my Mem while in the NBZ pertaining to separate classes...
What if every class has a unique weapon/implant available to them at some point in time? Why should Hackers have to use the data ports available to the rest of us? And why have I never seen a Cybersword actually use a sword? >.>

I'd love a way to quickly scroll through contract destinations in the taxi map. If the location isn't available with the driver, perhaps you could still put a marker on the map so we can find a drop off nearby.

I'd like to see higher pay (with higher risk) missions for more experienced characters. As is stands now, it seems very slow to build 3000 credits. And much more than that is needed to get the good equipment.
Note that I do have a low hacking skill. Is hacking would I should be using to build credits? I have perhaps 10 connectors to buy paydata, but I still need more connectors as I have "leftover" paydata that no one wants right now.

wow, i have only been able to find the brave star contact who wants brave star data. but its REALLY easy for me to make money. i only have hack skill of 4, and cyber implant lvl 2, but i can usually collect the one or two pieces of paydata on bravestar, then log out then right back in, to repeat. doing this i was able to fill my hard drive (80 MB of data when i clean out all other paydata, which is useless to me since i dont have any other fences for data) and that nets me 4000 nuyen a pop. having timed myself 3 times, the average time i spent to get 80 MB of paydata was about 3 1/2 minutes. (4:15, 2:56, 3:38) it can be a bit tedious, but its the quickest way to make money that i have found. in less than ten minutes i have over 10k (where did you find your contacts, at the yakuza?)

hacking is the most beta system we have online right now and contract payments will be overhauled next week. Great posts!
