I would love to have a map button on the global screen. Right now you have to go through 4 screens just to get to the map that shows all the territories.. something like Bridge > Status > Cargo > Map. It would really help the game if players had instant access to the map with one touch, maybe up at the top right.
Anyhow, love this game.. just got my elite version

Hey Lazaruslong, To get to the map pretty quickly click on "Menu" and then you'll see "Zoom Map". Actually, you'll also see - Status
- Contracts
- Center (on your ship)
- Zoom Map (galactic map)
- Rumors
- ... More (additional info --> help, options, score, awards, quit).
I find these additional menu items invaluable when I am flying around with the single exception of "Center". I would love to see the "Center" button change to "Conflicts" so I can quickly see the factional infighting quickly. In saying that, to see the factional infighting quickly, click on: Menu --> Rumors -->the funny lightning bolt symbol beside "Quadrant Rumors" Hope this helps  as an aside, you're gonna LOVE the upgrade to Elite! Strangely enough, I've gone and installed the free version along side my Elite version, and there is so much that you don't get on Free. I can't imagine flying around the galaxy without a trusted Water-Fuel tank bolted onto my ship, yet it's something you can't have in Free at all (yikes). |

Well I feel that the division of upgrades is closely tied to upgrades designed to make the huge 300% larger space map survivable.
I also run a copy of free and have been occasionally guilty of using Copy Captain to level up and re-try various lives =)

I like the Center button & use it a lot. I would rather see the Rumors button replaced with Conflicts.

I love the rumors button and use that heaps too, so it shows we can't remove any button very easily. how about we add "Conflicts" to the "menu-->More" portion of the UI so that's a quick-ish link?
