I'm pretty sure the Vlotgar was guarding a red locked chest. When I fought him, I fled to the southern caves to make my stand and then after defeating him I moved up towards the camp and then got curious about whether we could go into the lodge again and get the chests in there. That triggered the lodge dialogue and it reloaded the Burnt Lodge level, but I hadn't yet opened Vloty's chests. In the Burnt level there are no chests so I'm pretty sure I missed out on whatever was in those. Hopefully it was just regular loot and not crazy epic loot. Maybe there needs to be some dialogue that warns you to take a look at those chests directly after you mop up.

contributor - I've created #2518 to put in a warning about leaving before the Vlotgar chests have been looted. There is good gear in there.

It's not just leaving, it's approaching the lodge.

I chose not to kill Voltgar. In the following Orcin battle I moved to the upper left of the map for a more defensive position and it triggered the burning lodge seguence in the middle of the battle. So I missed out on the chests (and the experience from killing the Orcin)

@guest - thanks for the extra information. Seems like we need to work this transition out better!

Hear! Hear! I ran into the same thing while coming out of my defensive entrenchment in the northeast corner, got close to the front of the lodge and... poof! I'm really, really bummed that I missed out on that loot, but I'm glad it's on your list fallen!

Fixed for next. You'll get asked if you are ready to leave.

@doorwrath - can you be very specific? How are you told this, and exactly what does the dialog say? Once Vlotgar leaves, you should immediately be moved along in the story. I can't find any dialog references to "wait for Vlotgar to come back." The story never goes in that direction.

Hm. Didn't notice any chests. Seems like I'm going to find my gear elsewhere…

Hi there. Sorry for bringing up this old thread, but I've just run into the same issue on iOS.
In the Hunting Lodge map, after the battle with Orcin (I chose not to kill Vlotgar), the moment I approach the Lodge building to loot it, a cutscene plays where the Lodge catches fire. It seems to trigger whenever I pass the midway point of the map, a few squares east of the resting place. Is this intended? I remember there being a couple of red-locked chests in the building in the cutscene before the battle, so does this mean that those chests are not meant to be looted? I'm playing on Brutal so I'm gonna need every advantage I can get, and would prefer not to miss any significant gear.

@greyscale - sorry that you're having this issue. What happens after the lodge catches fire?
If you did not chose to kill Vlotgar, then those chests can't be opened.

Aww, so no epic loot? Oh well.
I closed the app the moment the cutscene starts, so I don't know what happens after. But if the cutscene is intended, then I'll just continue as normal. At least now I know its not a bug. Thanks for the quick reply, and keep up the good work!
