Just getting started, my friend. With your ideas, our army of imaginary programmers and the positive energy from players the stars are the limit =)

Haha. Late game. Xenos on last 6 worlds. 64 x 32 hard map. My fleet of gun cruisers just got nerfed due to the refuelling union strike on only fuelling fighters. Previously only focusing on packing the biggest railgun I can fit and discarding any heavy armor and low durability. Depending on the repair ships to keep them fighting. Now I can tear up the fleet standard operating manual, fire the Fleet Admiral and rebuild with fighters. Missile cruisers to now do only defensive duties. I shudder at what might have happened were I in the mid game.

Hi guys. First of all thanks for the continuos update and bug-fixing. I've love this game since the beginning and really appreciate your effort in keep the pace of developing up. After I update to this new .21 I felt a little bit disappointed of the changes in the carriers repair & refueling: good the fixing of the "fuel from nothing" in carrier to carrier refuelling (even if I loved exploit this!), very bad limiting repair and refueling to fighters only. This in my opinion put completely out of business the cruiser unit and heavily limit the strategic options during in conquering xeno worlds. For example one of my favourite tactic was build up long logistic chains, with three or four refueling carriers + 2 or 3 repairing to support attacks deep in alien space. With this change, and with the fact that now the invasion command consumes water fuel (another necessary and good fix) it's not possible anymore. Another tactic that went out of business is the "Burned Land": why bothering to conquer and colonize alien worlds when you can simply destroy them all? Impossible without refueling in medium/large maps. I could go on. Talking about the cruiser unit now the cost/benefit in building them is really unbalanced: why build costly but powerful ships that are stuck to fight only few squares from your own planets? At the end of the day now the strategy is limited to build up a fighter/carrier fleet, purge and mandatory colonize xeno planet one by one to have resupply depots. This of course was the "basic tactic" of everyone but, if would be the "only" way to succesfully play the game, you are making it less interesting and replayable in the long run. Please reconsider the repair & refuelling! If not on the carriers maybe you can add the feature to supply cruisers/transports/etc in larger ships or made avaialbe a "Refuel/Repair II or III" in the tech tree of Fleet Operations.

Just so you know, mav, I have never played a game where I used a Carrier to Refuel or Repair another Carrier or Cruiser. I have never needed or wanted this feature in the game. I simply didn't realize the bug was there, and didn't do it. My Fleet have been, and remain, more than 50% Cruisers (or Heavy Cruisers.) Hopefully you can get past using the bugs and see that the game supports a much richer set of options within the game's rule set. Everything you're were referring to (refueling chains, self-refuel loops, total planet destruction) is either an unintended and wildly unbalanced exploit or a bad overall strategy. I'm happy to have them fixed and won't be reconsidering them. Future updates will include a large number of enhanced gear systems including the ever popular "Water-Fuel Recycling Plant" and "Water-Fuel Scoop" from ST RPG which will be part of an overall package to provide higher tech Red Sector capital ships.

Added water fuel enhancements will be nice. I admit when I learned the actual nature of the refuel limitation, I immediately demolished the refuelers I had built. It does make sense, really.

Well, at least I've been sticking to fighters. Not much change there. Tho it sucks that military transports are much more costly to maintain. and an invasion of xeno space is just that harder to sustain. Well, looks like carriers are back in the business. I hope we see the red sector ship upgrades soon.

So we've all been playing the game completely wrong lol... It makes sense to me since the game is supposed to drag on longer with a ginormous tech tree, which the bug fixes will do with lowered invasion and deep red sector strike abilities. We'll also be forced to spend more time to take over more alien colonies instead of simply destroying most of their worlds, which I'm sure will slow me down by quite a bit. The carrier-fighter relationship also makes much more sense to me. It had been doubting the advantage of fighters over cruisers if they both can be refueled and repaired since they have weaker weapons and have so little HP in comparison while still having similar costs. I'm surprised it took so long to change this though

squee - thanks for the feedback. We work as hard and as fast as we can to resolve bugs and improve all of our games. Just two of us

Two of us my fluffy white butt! We know there's a growing legion of vicious, evil, big googly eyed sock puppets with plans for Play Store domination. The July 4th vacation was just a ruse. There was a knitting and crochet convention some where ;-)
