The next major addition to Cyber Knights will feature a new profession - the Hunder. This is a Cyber Knight who installs a rig through which he can better control and coordinate a pack of hunds. Many of the high-end implants (weapons, armors) for Hunds will be reserved for those of the Hunder profession.
The Hunder is the predecessor for the Drone Master who will follow shortly after.
This thread is an open call for ideas about how to make the Hunder awesome.

Implants that can help with tracking and surveillance would be good. Claw and teeth weapons that allow you to choose between HP and MP damage depending on whether you are trying to capture or kill are a plus I think. I'm not sure what you have planned as far a skills go, but a hund with points in Intimidation could help with threaten jobs. I could see a job were you say "do this or I let loose my hunds".
If you take a capture job and have some way of letting the hunds know who to go after, say your connector gave you some clothing with there scent or a DNA sample, they could automatically go after the target without you needing to control them in battle letting you deal with any guards.

As a special skill for the Hunder, what would you say about a special (called "pack bite" ?) where you add some power/penetration of the hunds under your control ?

Mayhaps a high end implant that allows the Knight better and more presice control of the Hunds in his/her pack. The Hunds would need it too, and it could be called "Hund Control Interface" or something like that. It would provide bonuses tp combat rolls, at the cost of some of the Knight's AP. Better levels of the implant cost fewer AP per Hund.

Essentially you're making a rigger specializing in cyborg dog drones. I can think of a few special implants for the hunds themselves besides the hund control rig for the operator:
Taser jaws: This implant reinforces the jaw and installs upper and lower canines that deliver a knock out jolt similar to non lethal stun weapons. The math is already there.
A less expensive alternative is the clamp jaws. Instead of steel teeth, this reinforces the jaws, but instead of replacing the teeth a pair of hydraulically powered retractable clamps shut down on a subject's limb, creating a permanent negative AP value (perhaps unless some sort of saving throw is made). You might also remove the ability for the captured subject to move- representing a captured leg- or of a weapon in the case of a captured arm.
hund drone: Perhaps a dog brain in a robot body, or just a really kickass drone with the performance of a wicked warhund on electronic steroids. Go nuts here: hydraulic ram jump boosters to let the hund jump over obstacles, maybe a retractable projectile weapon- think Ravage here. Expensive as fuck. MAN I want to draw this.

Awesome ideas all around - thank you for sharing! I think I agree with the drift of the thread -- there is the (1) cheap option in which you load your hunds out with basic implants (reinforced jaws, steel teeth) or the (2) expensive option where you install a Hunder Rig and then you load your Hunds out with the good stuff, and dump tons of money into them. These would be options the character could toy with, or find their own strategy.

what about implants that will detonate small EMP charge? hunds are really cheap so they are excelent for freshy CK, and for freshy CK biggest treats is BS/HK drone probably this charge should be one time use per fight but pernamently slowing down attacked drone (if not turned off)?

How about frenzy inducing drugs for hunds? The hund gets -1 hp and -2 mp every turn, but gains +3 ap and +2 to movement and brawling?

I want to see these hunds be able to fill some more useful roles than just brawlers. I want to see a medic dog, that comes over to you and activates a medpak, or gives you stimulants, while being able to stun opponents with its bite. I want dogs that carry extra guns/rounds in their armor, that we can take and use when we run out of ammo in a crazy fight. Dogs with sonic barks that disarm/disable/disorientate enemies. I want a dog with a 22'' sub-woofer and a sick aftermarket sound system so I can listen to music while my other mutts dance for yen. I love having dogs in my group, so if we can't have other members along with us (correct me if I'm wrong on this, as I think I lost an Agent-ex that I had with me when I bought a new hund) and have their talents to help us, then the dogs need to be able to fill most of these roles. Cyber dogs with hacking equipment and an intelligent AI, for example. Dogs with ranged weapon systems....
And personally I think these dogs should at least be counted in intimidate rolls and a few encounters- how can those rely only on your CK when you have 3 retrofitted War-hunds at your side staring at a chummer like a juicy T-bone?

I would love to be able to use hunds and use the hunder profession in free. Just the basic equipment. Like the suggested hunder rig and higher end implants/weapons/armor that would go along with it could be elite but would to be able to use the basics. That is one reason why I like cyber knights better than star traders, all the professions and basic equipment are available, yet it is still worth it to have elite for the extra perks and advanced equipment.

Free already has so much stuff in it. We want to make sure we're giving the Elite players everything we can to keep them happy. Since Free already has soooooo much stuff in it, we really cannot justify putting Hunder into free, but thanks for the feedback.

@guest - with 3 years and 250 updates, we have added endless content to both free and elite. Hunds will stay as Elite only features, but thanks for the suggestion!
