Are asteroids a big enough change that they need a new game to be seen? I loaded my old file from 1.2.3 and see no asteroids on my map. I know most updates are retroactive, but I figured a change to the map would be different. Thanks guys. Keep up the awesome updates!!!
Also, maybe the map I'm playing just doesn't have any asteroids. Didn't think of that. I'm playing the Elite only, 1 Xeno, 32x64, Abundant.

I think that it doesnt apply to current games. That would result in some weirdness.

Asteroids were only added to the new maps, and will be in future maps as well. Adding them to existing maps was risky, who knows what was already in that spot (Xeno or Player Ships, etc)

What about coding that allows them to be there, but only if the game is a new game?

As new map features are added, they'll be added to the new maps that are released with them. The existing maps will remain, unmodified, to support existing saved game files. Thanks! |
