I just tried to build a Military Transport for the first time in my current game and found that I could not save any new or edited designs: I get no save button for this ship. Other ships work fine. Am I missing something or is this a bug?

Marlowe - most likely, it sounds like user error. I was just working on the Let's Play last night and was modifying Military Transports. What to put on them is a constant discussion point on the thread. The Save button does not appear if the design is invalid. Are there warnings at the bottom left of your screen? Can you share a screenshot?

Unfortunately I inadvertently deleted the game, so I can't check. However, when the problem arose, I tried to edit the basic design generated by the game and just clicked through with no changes and still got no save button. I'll see what happens in my new game when I am able to build transports.

You may need to add a weapon.

Whenever you progress past one of the screens in the 8-step ship creation process, if something is amiss a small pop-up will say what is wrong. I think this should be an overlaid pop-up like in ST RPG because the current one is quite subtle.

Or maybe have the error prevent you from progressing past the stage where the error is. An example would be some thing like if no weapon, no progression past the weapon selection screen.

In that case, the RPG style toasts sound like a better idea.
