Since the latest patch, 1.4.1, I have noticed a sharp decline in my success rate for the Spice Treaty. It's supposed to have an 85% chance of success, so it should only fail approximately one time out of six. Lately it has failed almost every time. My spy points are 257, so it only takes one turn to complete. I counted 3 successes in 20 attempts, current political activity was two Alliances, no conflicts. If the 85% probability was accurate, I should have had in the neighbourhood of 100+ successes to counter 17 failures. I ain't no math whiz, but unless I'm overlooking something obvious the numbers don't quite add up. I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7, GT-P3113.

Come to think about, I have trade sanctions with 75% success that it works but out of at least 40 none work.

This was requested by members of the forum, and argued for convincingly in reviews on Google Play and over e-mail. The Spice Treaty has an 85% chance of succeeding as a political maneuver, but may not be applied, based on the current political environment. The most recent patch includes a really excellent update to the rules that blocks a Trade Route from degrading a Trade Alliance, or an Alliance, to a Trade Route. This was one of the most request features we had on the list. Doing our best to satisfy the majority of the players who are buying the game and keep things balanced and exciting for new and old players alike.

So long as it is working as intended, I'm satisfied.

I will work on improving the result message generation for the next release.
