Shadow Matrix Society behind the scenes progressing the illicit goods working within the other societies.
Federalists secret societey pulling the string behind the senate.
Should also have another group that works outside the law with the independants such as slavers.

"CeePLe" ... a small independent faction that worships the almighty Cat. This organization has its origins surrounded by the mists of time, but rumors have it that way back in distant history when civilization was <gasp> still using fossil fuels, and not actually space-faring (Yes I know, who would have thought that there was a time when our people DIDN'T roam the space lanes). Anyway, there was an organization on Origin (sometimes referred to as "Dirt" or "Earth") called the "Cats Protection League". The Planet Dirt - our Origin planetCats Protection League symbolsHistorians didn't quite know what the organization really did, they deduced that it could only have been one of two things. The first was that there were some people who wanted to protect cats because in reality, cats were minor deities (Pah, who would believe in such trollop). OR back in the late 20th Century (as they measured years on Dirt), there was a special league of super-powered cats. These cats fought for the causes of good, and protected humanity from all the evils of the world back then (the Russian Cusacks, The Axles of Evil, and some upstart aristocrat Steel Baron, Anthony Song). Examples of Hero catsFurther research showed that even in the early 21st Century (Dirt time), the Cats Protection League did indeed battle Song Steel as the family's manufacturing of Steel had a rather sick and evil use of cats. It has always been understood that to manufacture steel, you needed to add Carbon to Iron. Song Steel managed to produce steel at a much lower cost than other manufacturers, and although they had a reputation of "Pretty crappy steel", they supplied steel to around 70% of third-world countries. What the world didn't know, however, is that Song Steel was adding carbon to Iron by means of throwing stray cats into the molten ore! Sickening as it seems to today's civilized society, Song Steel's Steel output was part Iron, part cat! I told you that Song Steel was evil! Anyway, the super cats that protected the world must have stayed on Dirt when humanity finally took to the stars. I certainly hope that none of the ships that left Dirt were made of Song Steel material ... or worse, anyone from Song Steel actually made it off planet to form some cult or clan! In Cats We Trust

Biblios
Also known as Archivists or Librarians they were dedicated to the accumulation and preservation of knowledge. Sadly during the guild wars the pen did not prove mightier than the sword and they were mostly absorbed by Rychart and De Valtos. However there are rumors that at least one hive ship made it out in the exodus filled with the last remnants of this syndicate.

Thanks figure with all the references to other giants of Sci-Fi like Dune that a nod to Foundation was in order

I have relied heavily on the Biblios for all of the invaluable research about Planet Dirt, the fantastic people living above, on, and within the planet, and key historic events.

Never accept a dinner invitation from a CHUD, you're usually what they plan on having. I am perfectly happy staying on the surface out of the sewers.

I think MOST people actually prefer to stay out of the sewers. Yes, I know, Steel Song actually LIVE in the sewers, but they have never been known to have good taste

It truly is frightening that modern companies are trademarking and naming themselves after old stories/movies about evil companies/secret organizations, etc, etc. Perhaps I'll go to Metropolis IL and find out if there's an underground slave society that keeps all the Superman stuff above functioning.
P.S. Did we just derail yet another thread!?
