Yet another quick reply. Thanks again Cory.
Alright so each point in dv whiddles down your xp. So, from battles right now, you get 1 karma which = 1 xp, right? And missions add random amounts...? So when do you notice the xp reduction in action? When you spend it to raise skills and attributes? I'm just trying to figure out where you notice DV taking away from you.

when your character is up for a +1 XP you make a roll of DV vs. 300. If you successfully roll over your DV on a 300 sided dice, you get +1 XP. If you do not, you get 0 XP.

Man, no wonder Achilles, with his 365 DV never gets any exp...Muwahahahahahaha!!! And TP, if i were you i would try to change my characters name before the devs go mad. Hey, why should I be afraid? Heh, I have a new Cadar Bounty Hunter on STRPG named Jesus. Nothing like seeing "Jesus vs. Steel Song" at the top of my screen. It makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.

I'm seeing a few D3's on some implants. Is this intentional or just a hold over from your paper notes?

Those are intentional from what I can tell. They mean a range of 1-3.

I have a question on implants. I only have a datajack, nothing else. But it's a level III. My character sheet says I am "Heavily Modified Human". Seems like the higher rating wouldn't make much difference, but the actual hardware would. Datajack level I, II, III should all be tiny modifications compared to dermal plating.

I would say that it depends on what you consider to define a human, and the human experience. Modifying the brain, our seat of consciousness, so heavily, would be a huge modification to your very essence as a human being.
After all, what is the biggest difference between a human and a chimp? Our brains, and ability to learn.

Actually i think its about how much your living body parts work, and how much do the implants work. Think like if you drive to work, your body excercises less than if you would walk to work. (or course if you would need to run 50kilometers(35 mails?) in -50 C° would not maybe make very good things to your body)

I was referring to the rank causing larger DVs. A higher rank would surely be more sophisticated and thus be better built to cause less interference. Surely.

monkeyrogue - that humanity description is based solely on your current DV rating. Consider that a Datajack level I might be a simple upgrade, but Datajack level III includes a number of ports in the back of your neck, a direct line running through your spine and multiple sensory inputs in your brain. I'm not a doctor, so I made up those words, but a Datajack III is not just "nicer wires" its "a lot more wires, in a lot more places"

I see. *scratches chin sagely* I don't like my datajack III. The only benefit is a higher hacking rating?

no there are many other benefits. the increase in turn time, maximum icon rating, maximum headware to deck IO, etc. Right now you not see how fancy it is. it is MAD fancy, chummer.
