The best success I've had so far is to actually talk to and actively try to sell it to people I know. I've gotten 3 friends to ple at 5$ and convinced one to help reshare. But actually talking to IRL friends is proactive whereas social network sharing is passive selling. Not that it doesn't have its place, but from having worked in sales. Proactive personal lvl sales is how you close the deal. CdrPlatypus - you're right about this for sure. So I've added another marketing idea : - [Hard] Tell a real life friend about the KickStarter and share your excitement. Tell them they want to pre-order while they still can (we're well over half way on the cheap ones and going fast). Heck, hang out while they complete the pledge

Even harder reach out to coworkers. With this game being so cross platform and 2d rather than 3d I think almost anyone with a little tech can run it. Don't be afraid to be seen as a geek/nerd. Trust me they already know.

Do you guys have an image that can be used as a kickstarter avatar? I know I hav followed a few campaigns based on seeing what other backers trust and invest in. Do you have example of the type of image you'd use? Or the dimensions? Is it the avatar on KickStarter site, or just on any forum? Just need a small square logo? Yes I was thinking a small square image that has one of the space captains and the project name. I believe kickstarter can handle large files, the problem is too much detail just gets squished or lost. I will try an fin some good examples when I log on my laptop.

huckleberry - thanks for the idea! Here is the image in question, its a square ... its sizes down to the KickStarter profile image in a work-able way. You can still read it

CdrPlatypus - thank you for taking the minute to do this! It has a big impact And thanks to all the new commenters on the KickStarter page! KickStarter, KickTraq, and many of the ranking algorithms all take comments into account, so having a lively discussion going on there is killer. Feel free to even post someone else who you see posting in the comments.
