OK so I have a Knight with DataPort III and 100 MP headware and I am sure I have him selected when I ask to take an assignment as a courier. I get rejected on account of I don't have these requirements. What gives? All I can think of is that he's a Sniper, not a Hacker.

readyready15728 - there is no requirement by profession. What exactly does the Connector say? Which character are you using to approach the Connector? Is it a Connector in a shop, backroom, or on the phone?

Well, I tried replacing the 100 MP with a 40 to spare some DV and the same thing. I tried most recently at the Howling Sea Inn but all other attempts have been identical. As mentioned, I ensured that my Sniper, Anal Cancer, approached the Connector. Said Sniper is most definitely equipped with a DataPort and Headware Memory. The gentleman in the hat says: "I am afraid you don't have the necessary hardware, chummer. You'll need some Headware Memory and a Dataport."
I hope that gives you enough info to find out why the conditional statements around getting this kind of assignment fail but if not I can always give more info.

Did you check the length of the file he want you to carry ? Maybe it's bigger than your headware memory ?

I'm afraid nothing in the dialogue tells me anything about file size.

I reckon you've already figured out what is wrong but I think it bears mentioning that I got myself a 200 MP Headware implant and was fully able to take a courier assignment for 200 MP. I think the bug only crops up when you're over capacity.

readyready15728 - we haven't actually dug into the bug yet. Once you took the 200 MP headware, you've been fine since?

Wait... If a job fails, doesn't that keep the corrupted file in your head?
If he took a huge package and let the job exceed, the file would still be in his head, right?

Yes, that would be correct.

Then perhaps this might be the case? It's quite likely...

readyready15728 - do you know if you had space taken in your memory by files from failed deliveries, etc?

I wasn't able to get Headware deliveries until I met the minimum of 200 MP, so that's very unlikely. I failed a courier job on purpose one time just to see what would happen and IIRC the payload was automatically deleted.

Seems like this is most likely caused by two clinics that were selling defecting headware memory (Daz Clinic, Salvation Inc). These are now fixed for the next release.
The defective headware you have installed will just start working.
