I think 4 fighters is overkill at this point and ties up production and resources that could be put to better use.
Two fighters plus the Sword and Shield should be sufficient to secure Leiwen for time being.
Speaking of Leiwin can we see a report of its current status, what we have built there already and whats in production currently?

I'm working currently, but I'll try to get you a status update in an hour or so. Also, if it all goes ok and there are no dissenters I'll process the cycle a little later on today and continue as normal, just with the addition building 3 fighters for Leiwin. Why 3? I've seen a couple 2s and a couple 4s, so splitting the difference seemed prudent. Objections?

xdesperado - Delegate, here is the report on Leiwin you requested. It currently has 2 hab units in addition to the starport and is working on a factory with 8 weeks left until the factory comes online.

I agree with @brutus, Javat needs to hold firm in building and maintaining mines to fund the defense effort. Javat must be allowed to subsidize a mine on Aurelius Prime. As for the remaining decisions, I concur and have nothing further to add. ntsheep I couldn't stop laughing and had to take it out on one of my interns. They are currently making a meme in your reverence.

It would put to much strain on our economy. After we better establish ourselves we can build a larger fleet.

Currently rolling eyes at people who were insisting Leiwin was safe >.>
I'm on the side that 2 fighters is sufficient for now.
We of Steel Song voted to colonize Ogvidissio last time, and it seems we must make this colony our first priority now, lest we lose a large, strategically located section of our sphere. I propose Steel Song begin construction on a colony ship and strikefighter the very next week.
Research priorities should bring shifted towards a more powerful ship. I envision a new class called the "cruiser" with the first of its line dubbed the Wolf Cruiser... we should also research the first level of planetary defense.

Apologies for my absence - I'm traveling and don't get to spend hours in the forum like I do at work (shhhh, don't tell management) ...
Nonetheless, I am alarmed at the turn of events. I have to put forward to the council that we have to at least consider the option of leaving Leiwin undefended. It is far enough away from our own core group of settlements, and building up a defensive flotilla to protect the Core is a safe option. We must get research the capacity to take out the enemy planet - doing anything other than this will just draw attention of the Xeno.
Sacrificing Leiwin will not cause more attention - but having multiple ships running to and from Leiwin will.

Look - juuuuust putting it out there. If you're an Alien, and you see ships going back and forth between a planet on your radar and somewhere else, then wouoldn't you be a little curious about what maybe at that "somewhere else"? If you don't do any traffic at all (except maybe fortify Leiwin), then the Alien may ignore the planet for now ... and hopefully we get to a point where we can do planetary invasion and annihilate the Alien. If we lead the Alien back to the core before we are ready for a fight, then we're going to lose more than one colony
