 This is the second time this has happened, so I know I am not crazy. I need to install catlog so I can get some logs for you guys. I acknowledge with a non-military unit that I have positive rep with, and next thing I know, my character is dead. Something similar happened earlier in the day, I had my guy ignore a friendly (over 2000 positive rep, trade permit, death warrant, level 1 military rank) and the next screen showed his ship heavily damaged by torp fire and the opponent closed to medium rank. I managed to escape that one, but the bug seems similar. I am sorry for any typos, I am posting from my phone. |

It is possible that there is a long standing bug in the game that's existed for the past several years and no one, not even our testing system has ever seen. It would have to be exceedingly rare and extremely complex, and is likely device based or generated by saved game corruption / filesystem issues of some type.
I'm sorry to report that the routing logic for Acknowledge has not changed since early 2013, so we're looking for an ancient and very, very well hidden issue -- and one that very well may be specific to your individual device or maybe the device model and OS combination.
If you can post your device details, I may have one I can hook up to the auto-runner and play a few million combats with positive rep and see if I can flag any instances.

An ancient bug of tremendous power that no one has seen except in very rare instances. This sounds like a D&D adventure. All joking aside, I seem to recall something similar to this happening to me once. I swore it was a friendly ship and hit the acknowledge button only to be arrested, they didn't kill me. I was released after some time and lost half my credits. I just figure I misread the screen, something I've done before, and ignored it.

The Acknowledge button is just a renamed Surrender button. There have been edge cases in the past, specifically related to changes in Reputation between the Surrender and the rendering of judgement, which has (in previous version of the game) been enough to tip the character from "friendly" to "criminal" but what Tenebrous is claiming is 2000 positive rep, which is impossible to overcome in a single encounter.

I do remember I had + rep but not as high as 2000. If I remember anything else I'll post it. Perhaps this is just one of those Ghost in the Shell glitches  |

Perhaps this is just one of those Ghost in the Shell glitches Certainly, if Android is suffering memory faults or disk access issues, all bets are off and almost anything could happen. I'll hope to get some device information for something I can run in test mode -- almost every bug we've ever fixed has been reproducible in a few million turns under the right conditions on the right device. If there is a bug that we can fix, we'll find it and put it out of it's misery. |

My old phone was an LG Optimus V. That was the one I believe it happened on. My current phone is an LG Optimus F3.

Cory, I get it. I don't typically get butt hurt about characters. I go through them like tissue paper. Frustrated...often. I am now a government employee with small children, my patience gets frayed a lot these days. No, this really has happened, or I am nuts. From what you say, I would be willing to bet that it is device driven. These days I am running on a tracfone, prepaid galaxy android cyborg thingy. I have experienced what can only be called...wonky...things on this phone. Not sure if it will help, but here is the device info. ![]() Or not...because my phone doesn't want to paste now. Yeah. |

 free image hostingSeriously, don't waste your time looking. Odds are it is a memory leak issue with this junk phone. Too many other things point at that. It has been powering off and restarting randomly, won't display mms messages more than half the time, etc. Hell, once I think about it, I have had positive game glitches in combat as well. It all balances out. I just need to let go of the dust in the wind. |

I've seen this quite a bit, not just with instaI deaths, but sometimes you are carrying passengers and when you hit acknowledge, your ship is searched and your passengers executed. Bummer to be that passenger

My wife looked up the trade in value for this phone, and it only goes for $0.25 credit. Joy. |

Next thing I get banned person message and I am executed.
Was my best game so far so a little irked.

I suspect you had a negative reputation, a trade permit and were unlawful in some regard. I will see if there is anything I can do in this situation to hide the Acknowledge button. |
