After a seven month war with the Bollish Xeno, which cost us many lives, including the valuable Explorer and one of the Defenders that traveled with us to this hellhole, a new strategy was developed by the Templar. All praise to the Fishermen, an elite group of pilots dedicated to enforcing the peace through force of arms. Never again will the Bollish be able to build another force with which to threaten the lives of the people. The net is set, eradicating Bollish ships immediately upon launching. The Fishermen, keeping the peace with their own blood since 3.46AE. A screenshot can be seen here: plus.google.com/103292396624301408445/posts/ZTCAjGE1Vr8Using this tactic, I have forced the Bollish to remain stagnant in their little corner of the galaxy with only 8 worlds. The Xytox are gaining strength and are about to start knocking on my doorstep, but I believe with the Bollish in hand, I can focus on one and then the other, instead of having both at one time. The strike fighters used in the battle group are very minimal, constructed with only the first set of fighter techs. This is an entirely new strategy for me, as I often don't build warships until the first three techs, up to Carrier, are fully developed. The Bollish forced my hand, however, very early on. I literally turned my space into a beehive with 8-9 basic strike fighters there for a few months, while building up the Fishermen. They now serve as front line defense, waiting in the center of Bollish space and drawing every ship the Xeno manufacture to their collective dooms.

Awesome- I like the idea of sending out an advanced force to stop them at the source... Might be a decent strategy if they find you in the very early game.

I do that on the small maps when needed. Especially that small Rinze map that is available in the free version. But only when the Xeno come a knocking early.

I both love and abhor that map. It is a nice challenge andprobably one of the more difficult ones on higher difficulty settings. I can readily progress on hard. Add to that, it takes an additional 5-6 turns of fighting before i set up my third colony as I end up using one of the colony hive ships to prevent the Xeno from getting its third at start. Down where that Red world is with the small blue adjacent to it. About halfway across the bottom edge of the map. And congrats for containing them... though the map in question has Red Zorga (Rinze 32x32 with 30 worlds) Eventually I will play every map, though i have essentially finished half of them.... not a complete extermination of the Xeno, but contained by having whatever of their worlds i have yet to conquer entirely sorrounded. Basically without the Xeno I end up bored with that play and start over from scratch on a different map. I haveplayed all maps up to and including the second Delga map.
