vdx - around your level, Vlotgar and his guards might have provided 1,000 XP in total. At that level, you need 8,000 XP to gain a level. Hope that helps inform the decision. I would imagine the real differntiaters are #2 and #3. In general, yes I would agree. But the difference between the Level 28 Master above and myself is the Vlotgar and his guards as we did everything else the same (just different order). The difference between my party and hobiecat is only a few hundred XP. It's a small sum but for us completionists out there, it means something could have been missed. Based on another party making it way through the EP2, it seems: 1) Vlotgar gives a little XP than the Orcin party 2) Going to Gholla Outlook AFTER the Cult Temple seems to net a little more XP. However, going to Gholla Outlook and Granthorn first makes the temple a lot easier due to items and equipment. The first round or so of a fight in EP 3 will bring everyone up so I'm less worried about the XP than I was about if I missed something. On the opposite side of the coin, whose reached EP waiting on the lowest level?

vdx - your last question is one I am most interested in. I have a party at Lvl 21 waiting to go to E3, but they have not gone into Koda lands once.

VKKT: Level 23. I've skipped a lot of optional stuff to speed through the game and did't explore Gholla or Granthorn. I guess I have to go through those maps in EP 3 so I might end up catching up with everyone there unless the cleared maps reset.

@epsilon - you should be find entering E3 at Level 23. The design encompasses players who have decided not to do (or missed) chunks of optional content.
Thanks for sharing!

On the whole discussion about more and less XP there are also simple variations between different games. Playing through the ratkin levels I really noticed that different parties could really have very different levels at the same place even though I pretty much always do the same thing. In one game, I remember every time it was spiders it seemed to spawn two, where in another game it would spawn 4-7. That group was much further behind others in xp, getting ahead or behind early in the game would probably work itself out in a level or two at the end of E2. I also have groups that never got to do things like the Nordhall Troll, because he didn't exist when they went through there.
