Is there any way to let us add new ship upgrades to existing ships?
In my head I see it as basically being done in friendly space, then each ship gets their own personal editing screen. As long as the new parts are balanced and fit appropriately within the ship, then the design is finalized, then a number of turns are needed to restructure the ship.
I just spend way too much time designing new ships, then demolishing the outdated ships, only to research new and better parts ten turns later.... This could reset the exp level of the ship, but remove a major and annoying step in ship construction and fleet maintenance.

I thought this was asked for a while ago - and the short answer was no. Of course, I was only half-listening at the time. Someone had stuffed a bag of Catnip in front of me

On the roadmap to see if we can find a way to work it into the game.
Was not part of the core design of the engine, and therefore will be very expensive to add.
Our next territory control and tactics game will feature deep integration of upgraded units.
I'm working on it, thanks for the feedback, not the highest priority for 4X at this time.

Thanks, Cory Trese. Just something I hadn't seen brought up before, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I have a good guess what this is. Very excited.
