Is there maybe a way you could do mob leveling based off of your total XP (like in Elder Scrolls Oblivion and Fallout 3)? Then you could also set minimum and maximum mob levels for the different areas. So, just as an example, in the gang areas you could have mobs with minimum level 1 maximum level 10 (just making these numbers up). But, say if you go into yakuza territory the mobs could be min level 5 to max level 15. Or you could do the just the area level ranges without the mob leveling (like City of Heroes). So, each area would just have a different mob level range making some areas just inherently more difficult. Do NOT do this. The auto-mob/loot-levelling scheme in Oblivious was ENTIRELY borked, along with most everything else as well. Areas with mobs of certain level ranges with maybe some OOA(out-of-area) mobs are a MUCH better way to handle AND MUCH more enjoyable. i.e. it's fun to get wiped out in a supposedly safe area now and then, or returning to an area with primarily lower level NPCs and just being able to splatter them, finding a super nice piece of loot at low level, junk at high level, etc.

If anything, it would be so cool to have fights against one or two enemies - not every battle should pit my single character against mobs of 4+ baddies.

as we expand the monster types, stats and battle groups (it's just a spreadsheet) we will add more and more variety. Bigger, smaller, etc.
As we add recruits the bigger groups will make more sense (4 vs. 8 in CK is fun!)
