When xenos increase their activity, they go to war with me for what seems like forever until they finally reduce their activity and retreat. Now I play on impossible, in the hardest map (the rim 100 X 100, 3 AIs, huge space, 93 worlds, extreme difficulty) so I'm not complaining that it's too hard. But is there anything that the player can do to make enemy xenos reduce activity and cease hostility faster, or prevent them from increasing activity in the first place? Prolonged attacks from 3 xeno AIs is kinda crazy, especially with negative, reoccuring politics mixed in.

Recent updates have doubled or maybe tripled your ability to deal with hostile politics, and they are less reoccurring as well.

Well there seems to be a number of ways to reduce xeno hostility 1 hide don't let them know your there 2 take it slow 3 look scary 4 make them run away/kill them when they attack starfixer |

Best to stay hidden. Have you noticed that colonizing too rapidly or having lots of ships have reduced hostility (hence the advice to take it slow and look scary)? I bellieve I heard someone else on the forum saying the same thing how when one does not have ships in a concentrated area, that is where the xenos attack. |

Yes I've noticed all of the new treaties and I think more political options are awesome. I especially like Xeno threats ending solar wars. Nice to see that politicians care about SOME things more than politics! (like dying  ) |

Well taking it slow will make them more hostile but they might ignore you. Spotting nearby planets will help you know when they are close. Once you know where all/most of the planets are try to stay hidden as much as possible. starfixer |

Brute force. And I am not talking about an overwhelming number of ships, but a few powerful ships with high exp counts are a wonderful deterrent. A fun trick that I discovered on demanding is to find one of the xeno colonies and hide a few ships near it, once they "increase activity" you attack their colony while it will not give you the statement that they reduce activity, more often than not they will withdraw forces from your territory and go into a protective mode bringing their ships to the place you are attacking. You might loose a couple of ships in the process, hut it does stop them from trying to kick your teeth in. starfixer The hardest map is the 32X32 30 world Rinze map with only 1 Xeno. It is very small and the Xeno practically starts in your pocket. Plus the best planets are on the bottom left side of the map. Though this is just my belief. |

I did not know that AIs were this intelligence, though I'm not surprised in the least. I just started a new game on the rim 100 x 100 and rather than start in the middle, I've moved to the very bottom. Because I'm in a more inconvenient area and I'm not literally in the middle of 3 xeno systems, hostility has been much less, even on impossible. |

starfixer well of course they do. Would you ignore an enemy attacking you so you can attack them? Oh one time they just reduced activity and left the next turn i attacked.
