I've noticed that lots of characters talk more properly than they let on. They don't say "I'm" or "You're" ... they often say "I am" or "You are" or other more formal phrases. Maaaaybe their implants have a built in spellcheck/grammar check mode Annnnnnnnnnyway, I digress even before I begin. I was just going to suggest a change to a line Mallor gives ... "Keep your cool, soldier. Keep your first eye on your work and your second eye on Luka and Mercer. Don't let them fool you". For me, I thought it'd sound slightly better if he'd say "Keep one eye on your work and your other on Luka and Mercer." On a slightly different note, Flynn said to me "Keep raising your Reputation and working my job list, and I will give Luka and Mercer my thumbs-up. I'd like you to reach 50 reputation, so that I know you can handle the topHe said that and I looked at my reputation. My reputation was 51, so I had already reached his target.

Bear in mind, Mars runs half the world, and with Mallor's obsession with being precise and exact, those implants might well mess up your speech centres. I know I'd do it. Actually, now that I think of it, the only people with really Bostony accents are the low-down fan gangers, who couldn't afford any chrome! Fridge logic or coincidence?

The scientific research on the use of contractions in English is interesting.
People with Aspergers typically do not use as many contractions as others, especially when young children. So people thought that was interesting, and went and studied it, and found that children with Aspergers typically have parents who don't use as many contractions as other people -- even when those parents do not have Aspergers. And now people don't know what that means.
I know when I first went to school in English I had to work hard to learn contractions to use, as the other children made fun of my formal English speech. But I also found it useful. I like a certain emotional distance between myself and others -- something that more gregarious people never seem to realise or respect. It's amazing the distance you get with a little more formal language use.
But I personally think that in the NBZ there has been a long-running Matrix-tv show featuring Mars Corp heroes saving the world again, and again, and again and these heroes do not use contractions all that often. And their language use -- like their clothes and attitudes -- are aped all over the NBZ.

This is a limitation of the Storyteller Engine that is underlying Cyber Knights. Talk to him again and he will recognize your Rep.

slayernz - you are included in many of our games, Mighty Veteran One I am always very happy that we chose Boston (a town we know) as our CK setting. The Black Rose is great ... somehow it has moved a bit to Southie, but what the heck.

Yeah, I remember seeing that from pictures back in the first first first alpha discussions. I even tried out the alpha and found it great, but I never progressed beyond the first couple of encounters. Now I'm loving it - no. I'm LOVING it. I have only just scratched the surface on the game, and am learning big swathes of information from the tutorial, so am excited about what else there is to do.

Ya know - the contract system in ST is easier than CK because I have no idea what the names of the different grids are on the map, so when they say "Old Bridge" or "Fenns" or "Goldfish Bowl", I have no idea how far away that is. In ST, you saw it was "Destroy all life when you arrive at coordinates (-6,10), which is 11AU away", you knew where you'd need to go, and how far away it was relative to you. I've also made grävling my new goddess after reading up the screeds of awesome information she has written up

slayernz - we have an item on our to-do to follow AoP's mode, in which you can see a view of the city map -- here I am, here is my job.

Not to be a Nagging Nancy (Negative Nancy's more hated cousin), but how is this coming along? As sad as it is for me to admit it, I forget where things are too and this would help a lot!
